Browns | Bob Stoops not ruling out being candidate

Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is not ruling out the possibility of becoming a candidate for the Cleveland Browns head coaching position but said he is not pursuing the job at this time. Stoops would not say if he has been contacted by the Browns.

Falcons | Former coach praises Lofton

Chip Brown, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops had nothing but praise for Atlanta Falcons second-round pick LB Curtis Lofton. "Curtis has outstanding instincts and an explosiveness that allows him to close quickly," said Stoops. "He was a catalyst for our defense and a part of the first back-to-back championships in Big 12 history."

The Associated Press reports Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops is not a candidate to coach the Dallas Cowboys or any other NFL team. "To end speculation here in the heart of recruiting, I want to make it clear that I am not interested in any other coaching positions at this time. I am too excited about our future at Oklahoma and the program we're continuing to build," Stoops said.
