Bears | Jordan Palmer rallies team to win

Fri, 15 Aug 2014 00:15:28 -0700

Chicago Bears QB Jordan Palmer rallied his team to two fourth-quarter touchdowns as the Bears won 20-19 over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Palmer is in contention with Jimmy Clausen for the No. 2 quarterback job, and he may have shown a little bit of moxie in the battle with this comeback. Still, there are doubts Palmer could get the job done as a starter should Jay Cutler go down, so hold off on rushing to get Palmer just yet.

Bears | Jay Cutler may have serious injury

Mon, 21 Oct 2013 10:19:37 -0700

The Chicago Bears are awaiting the MRI results on Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (groin) Monday, Oct. 21, and they are bracing themselves for bad news. Cutler could be out for most of the remaining 10 weeks of the season if it's a serious groin injury. QB Josh McCown would take over for Cutler if he has to miss any time. The Bears would likely re-sign QB Jordan Palmer to back up McCown.

Fantasy Tip: If you own Cutler, starting making plans to add another quarterback. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, as well as Martellus Bennett, will likely suffer if Cutler misses most of the rest of the year.

QB Jordan Palmer is on the roster, and QB Nathan Enderle was added Friday, June 22. Smith said the team will keep three if the third quarterback is in the team's top 53 players. The Cincinnati Bengals played just two quarterbacks -- Andy Dalton and Bruce Gradkowski -- Thursday, Aug. 25, in their third preseason game. It appears the team is considering entering the season with just two quarterbacks on roster. Backup QB Jordan Palmer appears to be the odd man out if they do keep three, as he has not played in the past two preseason games. QB Dan LeFevour would likely be the third option if the Bengals choose to retain three signal callers.
