The Baltimore Orioles were interested in Texas Rangers OF Julio Borbon, but they weren't willing to trade for him. Baltimore didn't see him as enough of an upgrade over OF Chris Dickerson.

The Texas Rangers couldn't find a trade partner for OF Julio Borbon, so they were forced to place him on outright waivers.

Fantasy Tip: If no one claims him, he can be sent to the minors, but given the interest in the speedy but offensively frustrating fly-catcher, that's unlikely to happen. Landing in the right spot for a playing-time opening will make him an intriguing, low-risk grab in deep formats.

The Texas Rangers are seeking a "pitcher with options" in any trade for OF Julio Borbon, who they designated for assignment. The Rangers are expected to trade Borbon in the next few days, but a source said they are asking for a lot.

The Texas Rangers are confident they will be able to trade OF Julio Borbon in the near future but are not expecting a big return. The team could to get a relief pitcher that may help their bullpen at some point this season.

Texas Rangers OF Julio Borbon is expecting to designated for assignment when the team calls up SP Nick Tepesch from Triple-A Round Rock for his major league debut Tuesday, April 9. Borbon is out of minor league options. His agent, Scott Boras, said three or four teams are interested in Borbon.

Texas Rangers SP Nick Tepesch will be added to the 25-man roster April 9, when he is scheduled to make his MLB debut against the Tampa Bay Rays. OF Julio Borbon appears to be the player most likely to lose his spot on the team, although he would have to clear waivers because he is out of options. For the time being, Borbon is expected to be used as a pinch-hitter and pinch-runner off the bench.
