The Washington Nationals placed C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, June 11, with a hamstring ailment.

Nationals | Wilson Ramos dealing with wrist injury?

Tue, 01 Apr 2014 16:12:37 -0700

Washington Nationals bench coach Randy Knorr believes C Wilson Ramos (wrist) is dealing with a left wrist problem that dates back to spring training. However, the Nationals haven't updated Ramos' status after he was removed from the game Monday, March 31. C Sandy Leon could be brought up if Ramos needs to go on the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Wrist injuries typically sap hitters of their power stroke, so that's worth keeping in mind if it turns out to be the case. Check back later once the Nats update Ramos' status and give us a timetable on when they expect him to be back.

Nationals | Counting on Wilson Ramos

Mon, 09 Dec 2013 16:58:07 -0800

The Washington Nationals think C Wilson Ramos is prepared to start 125 games or more in 2014, with Cs Jhonatan Solano and Sandy Leon backing him up. "I don't think he needs any more regular time off than any other front-line, full-time catcher," general manager Mike Rizzo said of Ramos. "He can play regularly. I don't know what the average everyday catcher caught … what, about a 125-128 games? I think he can take on that load. And if that's the case, we feel good about what we've got as our backups." Ramos hasn't caught more than 106 games in a single season in his career and has been limited to 101 games in the last two seasons combined.
