Confirming a previous report, the Washington Nationals promoted SP John Lannan, C Sandy Leon and OF Eury Perez from the minor leagues Saturday, Sept. 1. They have also activated INF Mark DeRosa (groin) from the 15-day disabled list.

Washington Nationals C Jesus Flores (back) is out of the lineup for the second straight day Monday, July 23, and he didn't even take batting practice Sunday, July 22. C Sandy Leon is taking his place in the lineup. Flores was feeling better Monday and hopes to return soon.

Washington Nationals C Jhonatan Solano (oblique) is dealing with an oblique strain that will land him on the disabled list as early as Wednesday, July 18. C Sandy Leon is likely to replace him on the roster and will fill the backup role to C Jesus Flores. Leon is hitting .311 in 40 games with Double-A Harrisburg. Flores' batting average has dropped to .229, and he's in a 3-for-29 slump.

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said C Jhonatan Solano (oblique) likely will have to go on the 15-day disabled list because of an oblique strain. The team likely would recall C Sandy Leon from Triple-A Syracuse if Solano is placed on the disabled list.
