Free-agent RB Steve Slaton (Dolphins) had an impressive workout Tuesday, Nov. 20, for the Denver Broncos. However, the team has three running backs on the 53-man roster, and they are not likely to sign Slaton (or anyone else) unless RB Willis McGahee (knee) is forced to the season-ending Injured Reserve list.

The New York Jets are looking to sign a free-agent running back, and free-agent RBs Steve Slaton (Dolphins) and Kahlil Bell (Bears) are in town for workouts. Slaton would have the edge since he played for offensive coordinator Tony Sparano in Miami.

The Chicago Bears brought in free-agent RB Steve Slaton (Dolphins) Saturday, Sept. 15, for a workout, but elected to let him leave without a contract. They re-signed RB Kahlil Bell, citing his familiarity with the offense based on the offseason and preseason.

The Washington Redskins were reportedly in trade talks with the Miami Dolphins about RB Steve Slaton, who has since been released. A source reports that Slaton has cleared waivers, but the team has not yet expressed an interest in the free agent.
