New York Giants LB Jon Beason (foot) has been running on a side field during training camp and said he is making progress in his recovery from a foot injury. "It's coming along," Beason said. "We still have time. I'm just trying to listen to the staff, who I trust, and trying to listen to my body. But we are playing on Monday night (in the season opener) and it's still a little over three weeks before the game, so a lot can happen between now and then."

Fantasy Tip: Beason was a revelation as he stayed healthy for the Giants last year. He's a big IDP contributor when on the field and could be a bench addition or more (depending on his recovery) when drafts come around. The Giants are a matchup DT still.

New York Giants LB Jon Beason (foot) will not need surgery, doctors determined after he was examined by Dr. Robert Anderson Monday, June 16. Beason is dealing with a ligament tear and a small fracture in the sesamoid bone in his right foot, and his foot will be immobilized for six weeks, with three of those weeks in a cast.

Fantasy Tip: Beason reportedly said his recovery timetable would be the same with or without surgery. His injury is expected to keep him sidelined for around 12 weeks, which would put his availability for Week 1 in serious question.
