Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said it will be a work in progress adjusting a scheme to fit the talents of QB Peyton Manning. "This is going to be a work in progress for everybody," McCoy said. "Coaches, players, everybody within the organization, with how we're going to do things, the types of things we're going to change, but there are plenty of things that we've done in the past here that we want to give Peyton the opportunity to see. He is very flexible. He wants some new ideas and to run some new things. We've spent some time in the last couple of weeks explaining the things as an offensive staff we really like and things we can help him with."

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning does not have total control of the team's offense. Offense coordinator Mike McCoy still decides the scheme that will be run. "What we are going to do (offensively) here depends on what (coordinator) Mike McCoy decides, based on the players we have, and I'm open to whatever direction that takes," Manning said.

The Miami Dolphins may not have hired Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for their head coaching position because he did not like the idea of having secondary coach Todd Bowles as his defensive coordinator. McCoy wanted to hire an experience defensive coordinator since he would have been a first-time head coach and focused on the offensive side of the ball.

Updating a previous report, the Oakland Raiders were apparently not pleased that Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy decided to snub them, according to a source, but were made to understand that McCoy feels he is the leading candidate for the Miami Dolphins job and he did not want to do anything to hinder that status.
