Cleveland Browns quarterbacks coach Mark Whipple could be a candidate for the offensive coordinator because head coach Pat Shurmur said he job could go to someone currently on the coaching staff. Whipple interviewed for the job last season but Shurmur decided to handle the job.

The Cleveland Browns do not believe they will need an offensive coordinator in 2011, according to ESPN.com. When Pat Shurmur was hired as head coach, he said he would call the offensive plays next season. Newly hired quarterbacks coach Mark Whipple also has play calling experience.

The Cardinals have decided to hire Whisenhunt, the former offensive coordinator of the Steelers, as their new head coach this week.
