The New York Mets have reassigned C Travis d'Arnaud to minor league camp along with SSs Brian Bixler and Brandon Hicks, RP Aaron Laffey and OFs Andrew Brown and Jamie Hoffmann. d'Arnaud's demotion was widely expected, but general manager Sandy Alderson said d'Arnaud would be recalled before June if something happens to C John Buck.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (back) has described his injury as soreness in the left side of his ribs, and he said it had been keeping him awake at night. It's something that he had been feeling for around a week. Wright won't play in the World Baseball Classic Friday, March 15, and it doesn't sound optimistic that he'll be allowed to play if Team USA advances to the semifinals. 2B Justin Turner is the obvious replacement for Wright at third base for the Mets if he's forced to miss the start of the season. INFs Zach Lutz, Brandon Hicks and Brian Bixler also have experience at third base.

Fantasy Tip: Until Wright is tested by the medical staff, we won't know much. If he's forced to sit out a week or so, he could still probably be ready for the start of the season. Turner is more of an NL-only target if Wright is forced to start on the DL.

Confirming previous reports, the Houston Astros have recalled SP Jordan Lyles from Triple-A Oklahoma City. In a corresponding move, INF Brian Bixler was optioned to Oklahoma City.
