It's something that he had been feeling for around a week. Wright won't play in the World Baseball Classic Friday, March 15, and it doesn't sound optimistic that he'll be allowed to play if Team USA advances to the semifinals. 2B Justin Turner is the obvious replacement for Wright at third base for the Mets if he's forced to miss the start of the season. INFs Zach Lutz, Brandon Hicks and Brian Bixler also have experience at third base.
Fantasy Tip: Until Wright is tested by the medical staff, we won't know much. If he's forced to sit out a week or so, he could still probably be ready for the start of the season. Turner is more of an NL-only target if Wright is forced to start on the DL.
