John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports former NFL OLB Andre Tippett has been elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2008.

Former NFL WR Cris Carter and former Washington Redskins CB Darrell Green have been named finalists to be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Other finalists include DE Fred Dean, DE Richard Dent, RB Marshall Goldberg, LB Randy Gradishar, OG Russ Grimm, P Ray Guy, OG Bob Kuechenberg, OG Randall McDaniel, WR Art Monk, WR Andre Reed, commissioner Paul Tagliabue, LB Derrick Thomas, CB Emmitt Thomas, LB Andre Tippett and OT Gary Zimmerman. The Board of Selectors will meet Saturday, Feb. 2, to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2008.
