Fri, 10 May 2013 15:22:34 -0700 The Atlanta Braves activated SS Paul Janish (side, shoulder) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 10, and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett. Fantasy Tip: The only way Janish realistically will be called up and see frequent playing time in Atlanta is if Andrelton Simmons is injured and goes on the disabled list.
Wed, 01 May 2013 14:37:30 -0700 Atlanta Braves SS Paul Janish (side, shoulder) strained a side muscle diving for a ball on his rehab assignment, and he'll start another rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett soon.
Mon, 15 Apr 2013 12:34:17 -0700 Atlanta Braves SS Paul Janish (shoulder) will start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett Monday, April 15.
Wed, 03 Apr 2013 16:27:48 -0700 Atlanta Braves C Brian McCann (shoulder) and SS Paul Janish (shoulder) will continue playing in extended spring training Thursday, April 4, and both players are only permitted to hit in games. McCann will hit and catch bullpens while he increases his throwing program, but he won't be cleared for full action until April 16. There is no timetable for his return from the disabled list. Janish will be cleared to play sooner than McCann, and Janish will play shortstop for Triple-A Gwinnett when he returns from the DL. Fantasy Tip: McCann probably won't be back playing for the Braves until next month if he won't even be cleared to play in full minor league games until halfway through this month. Still, he wasn't a bad gamble as a second catcher in two-catcher leagues. If he's fully healthy, he provides fantasy owners with power that not many other catchers can match.
Fri, 29 Mar 2013 20:42:08 -0700 The Atlanta Braves placed SS Paul Janish (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list to start the regular season. He is still recovering from left shoulder surgery. Fantasy Tip: When healthy, Janish is only worth a look in the deepest of NL-only leagues. He is expected to miss the first couple of weeks of the season.
Tue, 26 Feb 2013 16:47:23 -0800 Atlanta Braves INF Ramiro Pena is penciled in as the team's primary middle infield backup with SS Paul Janish (shoulder) not expected to be cleared to play until late March or early April. Pena has experience at shortstop, third base and second base and has also played two games in right field and seven games in center field in the minors.
Thu, 13 Dec 2012 13:11:26 -0800 The Atlanta Braves signed free-agent SS Ramiro Pena (Yankees) to a one-year undisclosed deal Thursday, Dec. 13. He will compete to serve as the team's backup infielder. It's unlikely that both Pena and SS Paul Janish will be on the roster together. Pena is out of minor league options, so he's likely to start the season on the roster.
Tue, 04 Dec 2012 06:04:06 -0800 The Atlanta Braves avoided arbitration with SS Paul Janish and signed him to a one-year deal worth a little less than $1 million.
Mon, 03 Dec 2012 14:45:52 -0800 The Atlanta Braves avoided arbitration with SS Paul Janish Monday, Dec. 3, by agreeing to an undisclosed one-year deal.
Fri, 26 Oct 2012 05:11:38 -0700 Atlanta Braves SS Paul Janish (shoulder) had surgery to repair a subluxation of his left shoulder and is expected to return in April.
