Tampa Bay Buccaneers DE Da'Quan Bowers has only recorded 4.5 sacks since he debuted in 2011. Head coach Greg Schiano said that he's banking on Bowers becoming an every-down option instead of a situational pass rusher. Bowers thinks that the way Schiano has drawn up the ways to use DT Gerald McCoy could draw significant attention, freeing up Bowers for more and better attempts at bringing down the opposing quarterback. The arrival of CB Darrelle Revis and FS Dashon Goldson should aid their coverage, which would translate to more time for Bowers to get into the backfield.
Fantasy Tip: Bowers could find sleeper IDP value in leagues with favorable scoring of sacks. He's a depth piece for now. As for this squad, they fall just a bit short of every-week DT utility, but with their revamped secondary could change that quickly.

I think the biggest thing is making sure I'm 100 percent when I step out there with the guys, my teammates, and we go out there and play some great football."

"That's how we're planning," Schiano said. "I mean, we have faith that he's gonna recover. And look, if it isn't exactly that way right away, then we'll adapt. 85- or 90 percent of Darrelle Revis is still better than most 100 percent other corners, right?"

Every year he's going to walk out of his contract and say, 'I'm the highest paid defensive back in the NFL, I'm one of the highest paid defensive players in the NFL,' and there's a lot of peace with Darelle right now, as there should be.
