Seattle Seahawks DL Alan Branch received a two-year, $7 million contract that included a $500,000 signing bonus and a fully guaranteed base salary of $2.5 million in 2011 and $3 million in 2012. $1 million of Branch's base salary is 2012 is fully guaranteed, bringing the total guarantee of the deal to $4 million. Branch also has a $500,000 roster bonus and $500,000 workout bonus in 2012 and can earn up to $1 million in playing-time incentives over the duration of the contract.

Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals DL Alan Branch has been playing at defensive tackle and defensive end this season, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he will continue to backup both positions. "He's going to always have the ability to do both, which is going to have great value for you," Whisenhunt said. "If you have a guy can who line up over the center and knock him back and hold the middle, but can also play outside as an end, that guy is a tough guy to handle."

Branch said, "It's a huge year, first of all, just in terms of if you want to stay in this league or what type of player you are going to be viewed as. This year, if I don't bring what I'm supposed to bring to the table, that could secure you a backup role the rest of your career."
