Washington Redskins defensive backs coach and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris will interview Friday, Jan. 18, for the defensive coordinator job with the Cleveland Browns. Last season, the Redskins agreed to allow Morris to interview for any defensive coordinator's job.

Seattle Seahawks TE Kellen Winslow said he was not a fan of Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano's militaristic ways. Winslow added he was also unhappy over the departure of former head coach Raheem Morris. "Schiano came over there and he (yelled), 'Toes on the line! Toes on the line!' Blowing the whistle. You can't laugh. You can't joke around. So, I decided not to go to OTAs," Winslow said. "They got my man Rah (Raheem Morris) up out of there, and I was loyal to him. Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said he does not think he should be fired because the team decided to go young with its roster and build a team that way. "We made a collective agreement to go young when we took over this program,'' Morris said. "That's something we wanted to do. In order to upgrade in certain positions, sometimes you got to get worse before you get better. Going out and getting a young middle linebacker was something we decided to do and we did it. Whether or not at the beginning we both were on the same page or all four of us were on the same page, including the Glazers, it doesn't matter. Morris said, "Kellen Winslow, and I talked about this to the team so there is not talking behind the team's back, but Kellen Winslow catches a pass. He is hyped up and gets the crowd going. He throws it down behind his back, spin it, flip it, and gets the crowd relied up. Then he drops one, puts his head down, and walks back to the huddle. That is part of riding the emotional roller coaster that we don't want to do. You have to be the same no matter what." Morris added, "Oh, he's definitely talented, but I'm also starting to get an idea of the problems he's had. But I think it's the first time anyone has ever addressed him, talked to him about it."

Morris said, "Today, I thought our offensive tempo was just not up to par. I didn't like it at all. I didn't like it coming out of the huddle, I didn't like the way we came off the ball up front, I didn't like the procedure from the quarterbacks to the team, nothing." Morris suggested the root of the team's offensive problems started from the lackluster performance of the offensive line. However, the team's quarterbacks also didn't play very well.

Morris signed a four-year contract with the school to be their defensive coordinator, but resigned after one year to return to the Buccaneers. The suit, filed Feb. 26, claims Morris, who is currently in the second year of a two-year contract with the Buccaneers, owes the school $106,646 for breach of contract due to early resignation.
