Washington Redskins defensive backs coach and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris will interview Friday, Jan. 18, for the defensive coordinator job with the Cleveland Browns. Last season, the Redskins agreed to allow Morris to interview for any defensive coordinator's job.

The Dallas Cowboys could look to hire Washington Redskins defensive backs coach Raheem Morris if they decide to fire secondary coach Jerome Henderson. Morris' contract with the Redskins expires in February and was worked with defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin in the past.

Free-agent C Jeff Faine (Buccaneers) said former head coach Raheem Morris' coaching style was not a good fit for a young team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; however, Faine believes Morris will once again be a head coach in the NFL. "Coach Morris will be a head coach again, but he's gotta be a head coach of a very veteran team that can handle the style that he brings," Faine said.

Seattle Seahawks TE Kellen Winslow said he was not a fan of Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano's militaristic ways. Winslow added he was also unhappy over the departure of former head coach Raheem Morris. "Schiano came over there and he (yelled), 'Toes on the line! Toes on the line!' Blowing the whistle. You can't laugh. You can't joke around. So, I decided not to go to OTAs," Winslow said. "They got my man Rah (Raheem Morris) up out of there, and I was loyal to him. I would take a bullet for that dude. So, I had to roll, man."

Washington Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris said he turned down an offer to become the Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator because he had already accepted the Redskins' secondary coaching job and did not want to go back on his word.

Washington Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris said part of the reason he took the job was because he wanted to learn more about the 3-4 defensive alignment. Morris used a 4-3 defensive alignment when he was the head coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris agreed Wednesday, Jan. 11, to join the staff of the Washington Redskins. He will serve as the defensive backs coach. Head coach Mike Shanahan said he will allow Morris to void his contract if he is able to secure a defensive coordinator position next year.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said he intends to be coaching in some capacity with an organization next season. Morris visited the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings last week. "With Washington, it was more of an offer, but I also felt great coming out of my talks with Minnesota," Morris said. "We should know something pretty soon because you can see jobs shaking out all over the league right now. I'll be back somewhere next season. I'm not going to just stay at home – I don't have that in me. I'm a football coach and we do what we do."

Former St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is one of four candidates the Minnesota Vikings are considering for their defensive coordinator position. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris, Jacksonville Jaguars interim head coach and defensive coordinator Mel Tucker and Vikings linebackers and assistant head coach Mike Singletary are also under consideration.
