San Diego Chargers FS Eric Weddle is honored to be selected to his first Pro Bowl, and he will certainly not turn down the honor. "It's pretty amazing, honestly," Weddle said Wednesday, Dec. 28. "I've always been confident in my abilities and thought highly of myself - but you just never really think this moment could happen the way the Pro Bowl is. I'm extremely honored, excited to be voted in by the coaches, fellow players and by the fans. It cements all the hard work you put in."

San Diego Chargers FS Eric Weddle was uncertain of his role entering the season, but defensive backs coach Steve Wilks pondered Weddel's role during the lockout. "Coming in to training camp," Wilks said, "I asked him, 'Eric, what are you, who are you? You're not a crushing hitter...but you're a ball hawk. You've got great instincts. You've got to make plays on the ball this year.' And I think he's done that thus far." Weddle has six interceptions, second only to New England Patriots CB Kyle Arrington, who has seven. Weddle also has two more INTs than any other safety.
