San Francisco 49ers OT Joe Staley said he believes the way the team is built has been a big reason why the 49ers are in Super Bowl XLVII. Staley credits the team's strong character. "I think (general manager Trent Baalke) has been terrific, the entire front office staff. Not only bringing in great players, but good people, a good locker room," Staley said. "Great character guys. It's important to bring in talented players but you can have all the talent in the world and be, you know, an (expletive)."

The San Francisco 49ers have addressed the issue of possible distractions while in New Orleans this week for Super Bowl XLVII. The team's hotel is two blocks away from Bourbon Street, while Harrah's Casino is only a few blocks in the other direction. "We've addressed it ... We talked about what's expected when we came down here," OT Joe Staley said. He added players got a "heads up" about the "lay of the land."

He has been a limited participant for the past two days of practice, but he is expected to play. He suffered a concussion in Week 6 and was able to play just four days later in a shortened week.
