Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said LB Anthony Spencer is a very good player even if his stats do not show it. "I know everybody just looks at the bottom line on sacks or wins, and I don't blame them. But as a coach, you appreciate a guy like Anthony Spencer because he does the right thing, and he plays hard. He forces fumbles. He still rushes the passer. He gets in the move. I think he's going to have a great year," Ryan said. Spencer recorded six sacks last season with 31 quarterback hurries and four forced fumbles.

The Dallas Cowboys have not offered a multi-year deal to franchise free-agent LB Anthony Spencer at this point. The team met with Spencer's agent last week and went over several proposals. Spencer will decide if he will sign his tender offer this week and would participate in offseason workouts if he does sign the tender.

Dallas Cowboys franchise free-agent LB Anthony Spencer is switching agents. He left Roosevelt Barnes and wiil sign with Jordan Woy, according to a source. The Cowboys placed the franchise tag on Spencer at a cost of $8.8 million. Spencer hasn't signed it because he would like a long-term deal. However, the Cowboys and Barnes were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract.
