Wed, 23 May 2012 16:15:09 -0700 Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb worked with the first-team offense during the organized team activities Tuesday, May 22.
Wed, 23 May 2012 07:36:23 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals believe a full offseason of work under new quarterbacks coach John McNulty will mean improved play from QBs Kevin Kolb and John Skelton. The quarterbacks have been working on improving their fundamentals so that when a play breaks down, the fundamentals don't. Last season, Skelton had a tendency to not move his feet when he had to go to a second option. Sometimes the pass got there, sometimes it didn't. In the same situations, Kolb would just start moving, rather than adjust his feet to throw to a secondary target. "If you get out of rhythm with your feet," McNulty said, "then the whole thing is broken down. You may end up moving, getting out of the way and making a play, but as far as what the play is supposed to be, it's been lost and you're playing catch-up. More times than not, bad things happen."
Fri, 18 May 2012 14:53:20 -0700 Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said neither QBs Kevin Kolb nor John Skelton will have an advantage when training camp begins in their competition for the starting quarterback job.
Sat, 12 May 2012 19:58:23 -0700 Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb said he and his fellow quarterbacks will start their on-field work with coaches this week, and they will work on the basics. He said he hones in on footwork, trying to develop good habits while also working on timing.
Tue, 17 Apr 2012 10:01:13 -0700 Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb said he wishes the team would have communicated to him that they were pursuing QB Peyton Manning before he signed with the Denver Broncos. "Without getting into too much detail about our conversation, I just said in the future if you can just communicate with me, I can take it, if this is the route you're going," Kolb said. "I'd just rather hear it from him than the ticker. He agreed. That's how relationships grow and that's where we're heading." Kolb will be battling QB John Skelton for the starting job this season.
Mon, 16 Apr 2012 22:57:55 -0700 Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb (concussion) said Monday, April 16, that it was more than three weeks after the season when he felt normal again after battling a concussion. "To be honest with you, when I first went home it was still pretty severe," Kolb said. "It kind of worried me because I figured once I got away from the game it would clear up pretty fast. But it didn't and I stayed in contact with our guys here. Within three or four days after that three-week period it was fine. I was glad to be feeling back to normal."
Sun, 18 Mar 2012 15:06:40 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals could consider restructuring QB Kevin Kolb's contract in order to save around $5 million in salary cap space by changing his roster bonus to a bonus that would allow them to spread the cost over the course of the contract.
Sat, 17 Mar 2012 06:51:19 -0700 Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said QBs Kevin Kolb and John Skelton will compete for the team's starting quarterback job in 2012. Kolb is currently considered the favorite to win the job.
Fri, 16 Mar 2012 12:34:14 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals will pay QB Kevin Kolb his $7 million roster bonus.
Fri, 16 Mar 2012 09:00:08 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals are unlikely to land free-agent QB Peyton Manning (Colts). They must decide by 2 p.m. MDT Friday, March 16, whether they'll give QB Kevin Kolb a $7 million bonus. If Manning chooses Arizona, the team is expected to release Kolb before the bonus is triggered. Manning plans to notify the Cardinals of his decision before that deadline, but one source is already saying the Cardinals are out.
Thu, 15 Mar 2012 16:08:23 -0700 The Arizona Cardinals are expected to know what free-agent QB Peyton Manning (Colts) will decide by Friday, March 16. If they are not able to sign Manning, they will pay QB Kevin Kolb his $7 million bonus.
Mon, 12 Mar 2012 06:14:43 -0700 The Cleveland Browns could pursue Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb after losing out on the possibility to select Baylor QB Robert Griffin III in the NFL Draft. General manager Tom Heckert drafted Kolb with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007 and thinks he can still be a successful NFL quarterback. "I still think Kevin is going to be a good player," Heckert said. "Time will tell on that. He hasn't really played a whole lot. Even last year he was hurt."

Sun, 11 Mar 2012 12:56:04 -0700 The Cleveland Browns likely would not have interest in Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb if he was released this offseason because they did not have much interest in him when he originally went to the Cardinals.
Thu, 08 Mar 2012 23:00:46 -0800 If the Arizona Cardinals pay QB Kevin Kolb the $7 million roster bonus he is due in late March, he would count about $10.5 million against the salary cap in 2012 from the $7 million roster bonus, $2 million signing bonus, $1 million base salary and $500,000 workout bonus. Should the Cardinals not pay the roster bonus and let Kolb go, he would still count against the cap as dead money this year. If the Cardinals used one of their two exceptions on him, the team would take a $2 million cap hit in 2012 and a $6 million in 2013. If they didn't use an exception, he would count $8 million against the cap in 2012.
Thu, 23 Feb 2012 11:40:01 -0800 Arizona Cardinals general manager Rod Graves said he believes the team can will with QBs Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Richard Bartel but is willing to add another quarterback this offseason if it improves the team.
Sat, 18 Feb 2012 10:58:03 -0800 Arizona Cardinals QBs Kevin Kolb and John Skelton are considered the candidates to compete for the starting job at this point but general manager Rod Graves has not ruled out the possibility of adding another quarterback this offseason.
Fri, 17 Feb 2012 07:24:46 -0800 Arizona Cardinals general manager Rod Graves said Thursday, Feb. 16, that he expects to move into next season with QB Kevin Kolb as his quarterback, but he wouldn't completely rule out a shakeup. Kolb is due a $7 million bonus if he's on the Cardinals' roster March 17, which Graves said is likely, given the team's current offseason plan. "There's no reason to think at this particular point that we wouldn't proceed with ... seeing the contract through, but things change as we go down the road," Graves said.
Mon, 13 Feb 2012 13:02:12 -0800 Arizona Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb said he is feeling good after missing the final three games of the season because of a concussion. Kolb said it took him three to four weeks after the season to be symptom free and has started to work out.
