Wed, 27 Feb 2013 23:04:13 -0800 By restructuring the contracts of WR Marques Colston, G Jahri Evans, G Ben Grubbs and LB David Hawthorne, the New Orleans Saints have shaved around $10 million off of their 2013 salary cap. Before the moves, the Saints were roughly $15 million over the 2013 projected salary cap.

His base salary will now be $1.2 million, down from $5.2 million. The $4 million difference will be paid in a signing bonus, which will be spread over the remainder of his contract and saves the team $3 million against the cap.
