Sat, 19 May 2012 05:58:03 -0700 Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) said during a radio interview that he wants to play for the San Francisco 49ers or Oakland Raiders. The Raiders in particular, according to Owens, would be a good fit. "There's really only one team left in the Bay Area who I haven't played for that really at this point in time is a viable option and that's the Oakland Raiders," Owens said. "Given the opportunity if that's on their radar for me to come in and help them win some ball games and ultimately help them try to win a championship then I'll take that challenge on. I definitely feel I have a lot of football left in me. I think Carson knows that."
Wed, 16 May 2012 08:13:59 -0700 Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) took part in offseason workouts with Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, TE David Ausberry and WR Eddie McGee in Southern California. Palmer said Owens' presence was good for the young receivers. "It was great for them," Palmer said of his young teammates. "It was our fourth or fifth day in a row of throwing and they were tired and sore and for them to see another guy, that's not on a team, that's grinding … I think it was a little bit of an eye-opener for them." Palmer added he has no issues with Owens, despite rumors of such from their one season together with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, Palmer is not sure the team needs a veteran presence in the receiving corps.

"I see a lot of similarities to Terrell Owens," Sherman said. "The way the kid goes and gets the ball, the physicality, the desire ... he has a chance to be special, no doubt."

I'm sure everyone knows I'm playing in the Indoor Football League with the Allen Wranglers," Owens said. "We're 5-1 right now and I'm having fun. I'm using it as a way to keep myself in shape to play a few more years."

Owens wants players to be more aware of where their financial earnings are going. "It's partially my fault because I didn't manage and I wasn't (as) on top of my financial people as I should have (been)," Owens said. "Again, who's to say how much I lost? Have I lost money? Yeah. Was it $80 million? I doubt it. But at the same time, I feel like this is a situation for me to go out and speak and let a lot of guys know that are coming into the National Football League, or any league for that matter ... When you have financial advisers that you're dealing with and that are on their team that are supposed to be taking care of their finances."

Williams was introduced Wednesday, Feb. 8, to a crowd, as a wide receiver for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He will also receive a 50 percent ownership in the franchise. "It was an opportunity for myself and my family," Owens said. "It's a way for myself to keep in shape. I haven't retired from the NFL. I want to play a couple more years. This right here will allow me to do that and assess where I am. I know I'm physically fit to play the game still."

"I think everybody knows that even at 50 percent or 70 percent or 80 percent, I could have done some of the things if not better than what was out there on the field. Not to mention any names, but I think everybody knows what I'm capable of. My track record speaks for itself. I wasn't even 100 percent in the Super Bowl and I played on one leg basically. So from that standpoint alone, I felt like I could have played."
