Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) said he believes he can still contribute to a team at 40 years old but understands he likely will not receive any interest from teams. Owens said he does not understand how players that have off-field problems can get second chances while he does not get a second chance even though he has not had off-field issues. "You look at some of the stuff guys are doing now, domestic violence, players killing players, just everything," Owens said. "You have so many guys with off-the-field problems, drug issues, alcohol problems and they're still given second chances and third chances. They're putting them in rehab and keeping them on the team. I never had those issues. It's disappointing."

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens was asked on NFL Network show "NFL AM" whether he's heard from an NFL team since his release from the Seattle Seahawks in training camp last year. "Nothing as of right now," he said. "So I understand the process. Obviously teams are really taking a closer look in evaluating their younger players. Being a free agent, I understand that later in the months as training camp starts, they'll start looking for veterans."
Owens relayed that he'd best fit a team that runs a West Coast offense, like the Minnesota Vikings or Kansas City Chiefs. He has a good relationship with Vikings wide receivers coach George Stewart, and he played for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid when Reid coached the Philadelphia Eagles.
Owens also suggested that teams aren't pursuing him as punishment for his past behavior. "It's all politics," he said. "I think a lot of it has to do with my reputation, things that I've done early in my career. ..."
Fantasy Tip: Whatever TO thinks, a great opportunity isn't likely to emerge. It's hard to see him earning a significant role even if he gets a shot, obviously, so we'd see if he was then serious about accepting that he may have to retire.

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) said the fact that the New York Jets are using CB Antonio Cromartie at wide receiver shows that they're desperate, and they need an experienced receiver like him. "I've read a lot of tweets and everybody's saying that I'm desperate, I'm begging for a job," Owens said. "But it's not begging for a job when you know you can still play at a high level, given the opportunity. When you have a defensive back playing offense and running routes, then I think that's more desperate than my actual tweet itself." According to Owens, teams are showing no interest because there's still a perception that he'd be a distraction in the locker room.

While he may not have much left in the tank at 38 years old, TO has always kept himself in excellent shape. At best, though, he is a late-round flier in fantasy football leagues. More appropriately, you should leave him for another owner to worry about.
