The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens said Thursday, Nov. 6, the team's problems this season started before QB Tony Romo (finger) went down with an injury. Owens said doubt crept in as early as the first month of the season after the team lost to the Washington Redskins then answered with an unimpressive win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Owens added, "I think the loss to Washington made a lot of people raise a lot of eyebrows. I think those two games alone kind of let everybody in this locker room know you got to have sort of a self check like, 'OK, we're probably not as good as we think we are, or probably not as good as hyped.'"

According to a high-ranking team source, the team will likely start Johnson in Week 9. However, the source said Johnson's obvious limitations within the offense might prompt head coach Wade Phillips and his staff to consider other options, including No. 3 QB Brooks Bollinger.

Calvin Watkins, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said he is not concerned about WR Terrell Owens' comments about his role within the offense. "We have quite a few good players," Phillips said. "We didn't get the ball to Marion Barber. We didn't get the ball enough to Terrell last game. It's a good problem to have, but we need to be able to rectify it by controlling the ball more. Making more first downs, having longer drives – those kinds of things to help everybody get the ball."

Updating a previous item, Calvin Watkins, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens had what was described as a serious talk with QB Tony Romo following Week 4 over the team's offense, according to several sources. The types of routes and throws are what concerns Owens, the sources said. Owens, who the sources said was venting to Romo about his frustrations, has not liked how some of the throws were coming from Romo as far back as Week 1.
