Browns | Duke Johnson, Dwayne Bowe start

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 16:29:13 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (hamstring) and WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) were in the starting lineup for the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Both players have been sidelined with hamstring injuries but have recovered and should have solid roles on offense. Johnson likely will not start initially but could be a late-round option because he could earn playing time during the year. Bowe is expected to be the team's No. 1 receiver and could be a late-round option as a depth player.

Browns | Terrelle Pryor has support

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 18:16:45 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) had shown enough in training camp prior to injuring his hamstring that he should make the team, WR Dwayne Bowe said, and CB Joe Haden compared Pryor physically to Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson.

Fantasy Tip: Pryor will likely be fighting for a roster spot in the final two preseason games, but if he does make the team and is healthy, he could actually make an impact for a Cleveland offense that need playmakers.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe practicing

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 08:11:18 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe should be fine for the start of the regular season unless he suffers a setback. Bowe should be the team's most consistent target on offense and could be a late-round option in most leagues.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe could play soon

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 11:03:07 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) said he feels good enough to play Week 3 of the preseason but that that decision is up to the team.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe practiced today, which is a good sign. If he does play next week, his playing time maybe limited, but at least he would get some game action. Bowe is arguably the Browns' best option at wide receiver, but he still shouldn't be regarded as more than a WR4.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe returns to field

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 08:59:23 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: The team likely will be cautious with Bowe in his return, so he probably will be limited over the next few days. Bowe should be Cleveland's No. 1 wide receiver this season and could be a middle- to late-round option.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe may return next week

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 12:56:55 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) has a chance to participate in practice next week, according to head coach Mike Pettine.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe has not been on the field for a while because of his hamstring but appears to be making progress. He probably does not need a lot of preseason work to prepare for the regular season. Bowe should be the team's No. 1 receiver but likely will not be more than a late-round pick in most leagues.

Browns | Several key CLE players sitting

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 16:38:37 -0700

Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson (hamstring), WRs Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) and Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) and CBs Joe Haden (hamstring) and Justin Gilbert (undisclosed) will not play Thursday, Aug. 20, against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Hamstrings have not been kind to the Browns so far, and hamstring injuries usually take some time to get fully healthy. The more these guys rest, the more likely they'll be ready for the regular season opener. Johnson, especially, can't afford to be rushed back.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe still sidelined

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 09:10:19 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is not participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe has missed a little over a week because of his injury, and there is no timetable for his return. Bowe probably does not need a lot of preseason work but it would be nice for him to build some chemistry with Josh McCown during the game. Bowe could be a late-round option in most leagues since he will be the team's No. 1 receiver.

Browns | Dwyane Bowe still out

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 06:58:58 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is still out Tuesday, Aug. 11, with a hamstring injury. He's unlikely to play in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe is worth a late-round flyer as a WR4 because he's the team's No. 1 receiver.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe on sidelines Sunday

Sun, 09 Aug 2015 09:06:57 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is not participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe probably will miss the first preseason game because of the injury but has time to prepare for the start of the season. He should be the team's No. 1 receiver this season and could be a middle- to late-round option in fantasy drafts.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe misses scrimmage

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 18:40:26 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) did not participate in the scrimmage Friday, Aug. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe's injury isn't considered a long-term issue at this point, but Cleveland's messy quarterback situation has him in WR5 territory this season.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe has hamstring injury

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 10:02:22 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) is expected to be sidelined for a few days because of a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Tip: It does not appear that Bowe is dealing with a serious injury, but owners should monitor the situation. Bowe likely will be the team's No. 1 receiver this season, but he probably is more a late-round option because of their quarterback situation.

Browns | Taylor Gabriel praised by fellow WR

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 18:32:41 -0700

Browns | Josh McCown impressive at camp

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 18:20:08 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown hit receivers in stride and dropped in two deep crossing routes over the coverage during training camp Friday, July 31, and WR Dwayne Bowe said McCown is showing "all the potential of being a top five quarterback in the NFL."

Fantasy Tip: To say that Bowe is exaggerating a bit is a major understatement. McCown is simply holding down the starting job until Cleveland can find a franchise quarterback, and he is a low-end QB2 at best in 2015.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe excited for opportunity

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 10:57:19 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe said he's excited to be on a new team and in a new atmosphere. He added that he wants to fill the shoes of standout WR Josh Gordon, who is serving a season-long suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Bowe said it's his job to replace Gordon in Cleveland's offense and he believes he can do just that. Bowe implied that he'd like to score more touchdowns this season after not scoring any with the Kansas City Chiefs last year. "I got us down in scoring range and with our offense, it was based on running back to the tight end and my job was to play football," Bowe said.

Fantasy Tip: Will Bowe replace Gordon's production? No. Will he score more touchdowns than he did in Kansas City last year? Probably. Unfortunately for Bowe, he went from a run-heavy offense to another run-heavy offense. He hasn't surpassed 1,000 receiving yards since 2011 and hasn't scored more than five touchdowns since 2010. He should be drafted as a WR5, but has WR4 upside.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe practicing

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 09:08:44 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (knee) is participating in organized team activities Thursday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe suffered the injury during practice last week but appears to have recovered. He should be the No. 1 option for the Browns this season and could be a middle-round pick in fantasy drafts.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe tweaks knee

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 18:47:05 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe (knee) left practice Tuesday, June 2, due to a tweaked knee, but the injury is not believed to be serious. He limped off the field midway through the two-hour organized team activities (OTAs) practice. Head coach Mike Pettine said he might be sidelined until Thursday, June 4.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe’s injury does not sound serious and he is expected to be just fine. The quarterback situation in Cleveland is a bit murky, but Bowe has the opportunity to shine in this offense if he can stay healthy and re-emerge as a force like his early days in Kansas City. Fantasy owners should take a late-round flier on him, but have plenty of depth at the position.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe promises more production

Tue, 31 Mar 2015 13:52:53 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Dwayne Bowe, who had zero touchdowns in 2014 with the Kansas City Chiefs, vows to be more productive with his new team in 2015. He said he has plans of "going back to the Dwayne Bowe of 2010" when he scored 15 touchdowns in a breakout season. He has scored only 13 touchdowns in four years since. Bowe said the Browns plan to use him more downfield. Bowe hasn't topped 801 receiving yards since 2012 and has dropped 31 passes in the last four years.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe will likely be the No. 1 receiver in Cleveland, but that's not saying much, especially with the quarterback spot still unsettled. Bowe's best days are likely behind him, and he isn't very attractive for fantasy owners in his new digs as anything more than a late-round stab for receiver depth.

Browns | Cleveland to sign Dwayne Bowe

Thu, 19 Mar 2015 10:49:39 -0700

Free-agent WR Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) is signing with the Cleveland Browns, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe likely will be the No. 1 wide receiver for the Browns next season and should see a good amount of targets. He has only caught eight touchdowns over the last three years and has not recorded a 1,000-yard season since 2011. Owners probably would consider Bowe as a middle-round option in drafts next season who can be a No. 3 receiver for a fantasy team.

Browns | Cleveland hopes to add Dwayne Bowe

Sun, 15 Mar 2015 09:21:06 -0700

Free-agent WR Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) is meeting with the Cleveland Browns, and the Browns hope to sign Bowe during the visit.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe likely would be a starter for the Browns and could be the team's No. 1 receiver. He posted solid numbers in 2014 with 60 receptions and 754 yards but did not catch a touchdown during the season. Bowe could be a middle- to late-round pick in drafts if he becomes a member of the Browns.

Browns | Dwayne Bowe visiting Cleveland

Sat, 14 Mar 2015 17:57:47 -0700

Free-agent WR Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) began a visit with the Cleveland Browns Saturday, March 14, and it will continue Sunday, March 15, according to a league source.

Fantasy Tip: Cleveland needs to upgrade its receiving corps, but given the Browns' situation at quarterback, Bowe would still be a bench option at best for fantasy owners if he signs.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe released by Chiefs

Thu, 12 Mar 2015 19:59:44 -0700

Free-agent WR Dwayne Bowe was released by the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, March 12.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe's release was expected after the team signed Jeremy Maclin during free agency. His fantasy value moving forward will depend largely on where he ends up, but if he lands with a more prolific passing attack, he could be a solid WR3 in 2015.

Browns | Cleveland pursuing Dwayne Bowe

Thu, 12 Mar 2015 16:07:42 -0700

Free-agent WR Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) is an option for the Cleveland Browns at wide receiver.

Fantasy Tip: The Browns are in dire need of another wide receiver, but Bowe's value would be limited with Cleveland's mediocre situation at quarterback. He probably wouldn't have much more value than he did with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chiefs | Will release Dwayne Bowe

Thu, 12 Mar 2015 10:52:56 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe is expected to be released Thursday, March 12.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe probably should be considered a WR3 as he enters the free-agent market, but if he signs in the right situation, he could see increased value in 2015. This is a situation to monitor during the offseason.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe likely to be cut

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 10:20:43 -0700

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe is likely to be cut this week.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe's best days are probably behind him. He's still worth monitoring, though. If he landed in a system like New England, he could easily have a bounce-back year.

Chiefs | Kansas City may cut Dwayne Bowe

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 08:31:02 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe may be cut if the team cannot trade him.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe could see his fantasy football stock rise if he lands in the right spot this offseason. For now, he should be considered a WR3 in Kansas City.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe's status in question

Fri, 26 Dec 2014 13:45:43 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 26, and is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to check the inactive list before they decide on their lineups. Bowe still has not caught a touchdown this season and has caught three or less passes in five of his last six games. Owners should be able to find better options than Bowe at running back.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe misses practice

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 16:08:46 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 25. The Chiefs did not practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to see if Bowe is able to practice Friday, Dec. 26, so they can have a better idea of his Week 17 status. Bowe has a favorable matchup against the San Diego Chargers but is not a great option to use since he has not caught a touchdown yet this season.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe not on practice field

Wed, 24 Dec 2014 15:13:49 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) was held out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe ($5,555) is dealing with a sprained shoulder, and he'll probably be questionable in Week 17 against the San Diego Chargers. That should make you want to avoid him at all costs at FantasyScore, especially since the Chiefs have yet to record a wide receiver TD this year.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe has sprained shoulder

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 13:51:41 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) is dealing with what the team is calling a sprained shoulder, and his availability for Week 17 against the San Diego Chargers is in question. However, head coach Andy Reid is optimistic that Bowe will be able to play in the season finale. Bowe missed all of practice last week while dealing with the flu and still caught six passes for 57 yards in Week 16. "Knowing Dwayne, he doesn't miss much," Reid said. "I think he'll be OK once it's all said and done here. We've got a little different schedule because of Christmas and we'll practice tomorrow. It will be a stretch for him to practice to be able to do that tomorrow but as the week goes on, he'll be there."

Fantasy Tip: Bowe ($5,555) is probably a flex play, at best, against the Chargers if he's playing. If he's inactive, that'll give Albert Wilson ($5,555) a boost, but again, he's still likely a very weak flex option at FantasyScore. If Bowe sits out, Jamaal Charles ($5,555) should see even more work in the passing game.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe questionable

Fri, 19 Dec 2014 13:48:55 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (flu) did not practice for the third straight day this week Friday, Dec. 19, and is questionable for Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, head coach Andy Reid is confident that Bowe will play against the Steelers. "He's taken in some fluids and trying to maintain keeping those fluids in," Reid said. "We'll just see how he does. He is making improvement, but he did not practice today."

Fantasy Tip: Bowe ($4,400) is surely a risk at FantasyScore just based off his disappointing season with zero touchdowns. However, if you're feeling frisky, he could return nice value as a sleeper going against one of the worst secondaries in the league, especially in the last four weeks.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe still sick

Thu, 18 Dec 2014 15:03:28 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (illness) missed his second straight practice due to an illness Thursday, Dec. 18.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear if Bowe's illness will put him in jeopardy of missing the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's a shame if it does, since the Steelers are ripe for the picking for wideouts and QBs in fantasy leagues for most of the season. Consider Bowe ($4,400) a sleeper play at FantasyScore if he's starting this weekend.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe sick Wednesday

Wed, 17 Dec 2014 15:26:14 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (illness) sat out of practice with an illness Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe has had a disappointing season with no touchdowns, but if there was ever a time to play him at FantasyScore, this might be the week. The Pittsburgh Steelers are allowing the most average fantasy points to receivers in the last four weeks (35.83). Bowe will cost you just $4,400 if you're willing to take the leap of faith.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe will not practice

Wed, 17 Dec 2014 10:22:25 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (illness) was sent home and will not practice Wednesday, Dec. 17, because of an illness.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe should be able to return later in the week if the illness is minor. Bowe has not scored a touchdown at this point but has a favorable matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16. Bowe only costs $4,400 on FantasyScore and could be a nice flex option for owners.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe a full participant

Thu, 18 Sep 2014 14:31:02 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe hasn't done much this year and the Miami Dolphins have been solid against wide receivers this season, not to mention the Chiefs will be playing on the road.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe fully practices

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 15:15:36 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: While the injury should not slow him down, Bowe will cost you $5,500 (11.0% of cap) in FantasyScore. There are probably better ways to spend that cap space in Week 3.

Fri, 12 Sep 2014 14:29:38 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Sept. 12, and he's listed as probable for Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe is back after his one-game suspension, and he's not expected to have his snaps limited at all against the Broncos. You'd be better served looking for a receiving option at FantasyScore, though. Bowe will cost you $4,800 (9.6% of cap).

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe not expected to be limited

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 16:27:43 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) isn't expected to be limited in any way in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos in his first game of the season after serving a one-game suspension, according to head coach Andy Reid. "He had a great training camp and preseason," Reid said. "I haven't seen anything (like that). I liked what I saw there. He came back in great shape. We expect him to have a real good year."

Fantasy Tip: It's a good sign for Bowe owners, but expecting anything more than WR3 numbers in his season debut is probably foolish.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe fully practices

Thu, 11 Sep 2014 16:21:15 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) practiced in full for the second straight day this week Thursday, Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe is cheap at FantasyScore ($4,800; 9.6% of cap), but you can probably find better options. Remember, it's Bowe's first game of the season coming off a one-game suspension.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe to be eased in?

Wed, 10 Sep 2014 16:25:03 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) returned to a full practice Wednesday, Sept. 10, but head coach Andy Reid said the team plans to ease him back in after he was suspended for the first week of the season. "We'll ease him back in and make sure he gets him back into the swing of things," Reid said of Bowe. "He really hadn't done much for a few weeks."

Fantasy Tip: It makes sense with Bowe missing Week 1 and being a little dinged up. The Chiefs will likely have to play catch-up with the Denver Broncos, which is good for Bowe, but he could wind up matched up against shut-down corner Aqib Talib. We recommend avoiding Bowe and his $4,800 (9.6% of cap) pricetag this weekend.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe to return

Tue, 09 Sep 2014 13:10:17 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe will return to the 53-man roster from Reserve/Suspension this week, the team announced Tuesday, Sept. 9. Bowe served a one-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Fantasy Tip: It's nice to have Bowe back, but at the same time there's somewhat of a risk. It might be best to wait a week before putting him in your lineup, but he does offer a relatively cheaper option at $4,800 on FantasyScore, even if he'll be matched up against Denver Broncos CB Aqib Talib.

Chiefs | Frankie Hammond to start

Wed, 27 Aug 2014 05:25:43 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Frankie Hammond Jr. is likely to start in place of suspended WR Dwayne Bowe in Week 1.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe misses practice

Thu, 21 Aug 2014 12:56:39 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe has been suspended for Week 1 but should be one of the top targets in the team's passing game. Bowe probably will be a No. 3 wide receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe suspended

Fri, 15 Aug 2014 09:16:05 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe will be suspended for one game for substance abuse, and he'll miss the season opener against the Tennessee Titans, according to a team source.

Fantasy Tip: Bowe's status as an undervalued sleeper for fantasy leagues is quickly fading. This news just contributes to that further. He's also dealing with a finger injury that has led to inconsistency in training camp and dropped passes. The Chiefs already don't have many reliable receivers beyond Bowe. For Week 1 against the Titans, Travis Kelce may be your best bet in daily games, especially now that Bowe will miss the contest.

Fantasy Tip: He's not expected to miss any time except an occasional day off for maintenance. He's a good WR3 in fantasy.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (finger) suffered a finger injury but is still able to practice, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Fantasy Tip: The severity of the injury was unclear, though it can't be too serious if he can practice with it. He remains a low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 option as the Chiefs' go-to receiver.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe is in terrific shape, according to wide receivers coach David Culley. "He's in the best shape he's been in. I know from last year, this is completely different."

Fantasy Tip: Bowe will be the top passing option in the Chiefs offense in 2014, which will make him a low-end WR2 on draft day.
