Chicago White Sox C A.J. Pierzynski hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs in a winning effort Wednesday, April 11. OF Alejandro De Aza also clubbed a two-run homer to beat the Cleveland Indians. Both Pierzynski and De Aza have two home runs this year.

Chicago White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-5 with a double and solo home run Monday, April 9, against the Cleveland Indians. De Aza is 17-for-43 (.395) over his past 12 games against the Indians.

Chicago White Sox general manager Ken Williams said that manager Robin Ventura may revisit plans to play Dayan Viciedo in left field, Alejandro De Aza in center field and Alex Rios in right field because of Viciedo's shaky defense. "(Viciedo is) certainly more comfortable in right; that's obvious," Williams said. "He has to keep working. He's a kid we've moved around a bit from third to first to right to left. It's going to take him some time. We all saw he took to right field adeptly; it's something Robin and the coaches are talking about, and if he doesn't, we can make an adjustment." Viciedo has also struggled at the plate this spring, carrying a .121 average into play Saturday, March 24.

Chicago White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza is expected to serve as the leadoff hitter this season. He said Tuesday, March 6, that he is trying to stay as patient as possible in the batter's box against left-handed pitchers; he had just 19 at-bats against lefties last season. "I want to get on base as much as I can," De Aza said. "I'm very excited. That's like a slap hitter's dream, you know? It's a very good feeling to be able to take off with the team and be in the starting lineup again."

Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams is talking about having OF Alejandro De Aza as the team's leadoff man next season. That means OF Carlos Quentin will be traded, or OF Alex Rios, OF Dayan Viciedo or DH Adam Dunn will be benched.

Chicago White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza likely will be in the mix for one of the starting outfield positions next season. The team expected to look for a leadoff man with OF Juan Pierre being a free agent this offseason, which is where De Aza could be used.

Chicago White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza had two hits and two RBIs for the third consecutive game Wednesday, Sept. 21, against the Cleveland Indians. He is batting .328 with a .921 OPS and 23 RBIs in 47 games. "I'm very excited watching this kid play, very excited," manager Ozzie Guillen said.
