Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has been cleared of any involvement in an assault and property damage accusation, the Washington police department said Wednesday, Aug. 13. "The Bellevue Police Department has determined that Marshawn Lynch was not involved in this incident in any way," the department said in a statement. "The case remains an open and active investigation. We appreciate the cooperation we have received from Mr. Lynch and the Seahawks organization during this investigation."
Fantasy Tip: It's been a busy off-the-field preseason for Lynch. Fortunately for him and the Seahawks, though, this latest issue is nothing to worry about. Although there's a decent chance Lynch will be spelled more often in the backfield this year, he still remains one of the safer RB1 options.

The Seattle Seahawks believe the allegations against RB Marshawn Lynch are false. "After speaking with Marshawn, we are comfortable these accusations are bogus," the team said in a statement.

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch is reportedly being investigated for alleged assault and property damage. The incident reportedly happened Sunday, Aug. 10, with no involvement of violence or sexual assault. The Bellevue Police Department is investigating the situation.
Fantasy Tip: Lynch's tumultuous offseason continues. Obviously it is important to keep tabs on this situation. For now, Lynch remains an RB1 option in standard leagues while RB Christine Michael may gain a boost in average draft position.

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch looked good during practice Sunday, Aug. 10, and is getting close to be ready for the start of the season. Head coach Pete Carroll said Lynch will not need many preseason reps, but the team would like him to receive some playing time in the preseason.
Fantasy Tip: Lynch is working his way into playing shape after a brief holdout. Lynch should be selected in the first round in most fantasy leagues.

Tue, 29 Jul 2014 15:44:00 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has been fined $275,000 for missing his sixth straight day of training camp, per collective bargaining agreement rules.
Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks seem to be fine waiting for Lynch to end his holdout. They have capable backups in Christine Michael and Robert Turbin. It would behoove Lynch to end his holdout soon and get back to maintaining his RB1 status.
Thu, 24 Jul 2014 16:51:17 -0700
Updating a previous story, Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch and the organization are at a stalemate in talks regarding a new deal. Lynch wants top-three money for the position, while team officials are unwilling to give him a new deal, believing he is paid adequately. Lynch showed up for minicamp workouts only to avoid being fined.
Fantasy Tip: This could get ugly before it clears up for fantasy owners. Prepare for a lengthy standoff, because Lynch tends to hold to his convictions, and the Seahawks have quality backups in RBs Christine Michael and Robert Turbin.
Thu, 24 Jul 2014 16:06:21 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch will hold out of training camp, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: Lynch is following suit after the recent and short-lived Jamaal Charles holdout. A holdout is always something to keep tabs on, but it's not likely Lynch will miss any playing time. He's still an RB1 in all formats.
Sun, 20 Jul 2014 13:22:12 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael's work this spring has done nothing to dismiss the thought that he will receive regular carries this season.
Fantasy Tip: It's still not known how many he'll receive, but Marshawn Lynch remains the lead back. Lynch is a low-end RB1, and Michael is a RB4 with upside.
Thu, 17 Jul 2014 07:07:53 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch, who averaged 18.8 carries a game last season, is expected to be scaled back some this year. However, he's still expected to receive 15 or 16 carries per game with RB Christine Michael filling in at times.
Fantasy Tip: There were reports the team was going to use a committee at running back, but they seem to be exaggerated right now. Lynch remains a low-end RB1, and Michael is a flex option in good matchups.
Tue, 17 Jun 2014 18:07:07 -0700
Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (ankle) attended the team's first day of minicamp Tuesday, June 17, but did not practice because of a sore ankle.
Fantasy Tip: His presence at minicamp should ease any concerns about whether Lynch might be retiring, and he will continue to be the main back in Seattle. He will likely give up some carries to Christine Michael, but Lynch is still a No. 1 fantasy running back.
Tue, 17 Jun 2014 11:15:44 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch is unlikely to retire this offseason, according to Tennessee Titans SS Jordan Babineaux. Babineaux said Lynch has been working on his training separate from the team. The Seahawks aren't likely to give Lynch an extension because he's already paid like a top-five running back.
Fantasy Tip: We don't see Beast Mode walking away from the game just yet, either. He may be spelled more often this year by Christine Michael, but Lynch remains a clear-cut No. 1 fantasy running back.
Thu, 12 Jun 2014 17:11:37 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch told two teammates last season that he could retire if the team won the Super Bowl, and that option is still realistic at this point, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: If Lynch decides to walk away, Robert Turbin and Christine Michael likely would share carries this upcoming season. Michael likely would have more value because of his performance during organized team activities and his potential to be a lead back, but Turbin would also have solid value.
Thu, 12 Jun 2014 14:15:44 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has not informed the team of his desire to skip organized team activities. He wants a new contract and may end up telling the team he won't participate.
Fantasy Tip: Lynch remains a target for the bottom half of Round 1, although additional missed time could be cause for concern. Christine Michael continues to impress during OTAs and could eat into Lynch's carries this season, as he appears to be his heir apparent.
Wed, 11 Jun 2014 19:31:28 -0700
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch is expected to skip the team's mandatory minicamp next week, according to sources familiar with the team's thinking. Lynch skipped the team's visit to the White House in May, and reportedly hasn't appeared at any of the team's voluntary organized team activities (OTAs). He is thought to be unhappy with his contact, though it's not clear if that is the only football-related reason the running back is considering skipping or reporting late to minicamp.
Tue, 10 Jun 2014 05:52:38 -0700
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said his "running back by committee" comments last week meant the team would use the approach in OTAs, but not necessarily when the season started.
Fantasy Tip: We still expect Christine Michael to steal some of the workload from Marshawn Lynch. It could be enough to knock him out of first-round value, but he still rates as an RB1 this year.
Wed, 04 Jun 2014 21:01:17 -0700
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said Wednesday, June 4, that the team is impressed by RB Christine Michael during offseason workouts. "We are going to be running back by committee. We really like what Christine Michael is doing right now," Bevell said.
Fantasy Tip: This has to concern potential fantasy owners of Marshawn Lynch, who has been the primary mail carrier in the great Pacific Northwest lately. It will be interesting to see if Michael carries this momentum into training camp and the preseason. If Bevell really means what he says, then Lynch will have to be dropped down a few pegs on draft cheat sheets, with Michael emerging as a sleeper. But it's June, a lot can change in the next three months.

Thu, 29 May 2014 07:32:49 -0700
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was complimentary of RB Christine Michael after the back impressed during team workouts, showing burst at the line of scrimmage. "We have very high expectations for him," Carroll said. "He's going to get a ton of work. He's just a million miles ahead of where he was in terms of understanding what we want scheme-wise, pass protection wise, route wise, and we know he's a natural runner. He's got explosive talent and we just want to get him to fit in."
Fantasy Tip: Michael probably won't have a huge weekly workload, despite coach's comments. But he is next in line should anything go wrong for Marshawn Lynch, whose busy workload the last few years may start wearing him down. Michael is a decent late-rounds speculation in deep fantasy football leagues.
