Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz was hitting 93 mph with his fastball in his outing Tuesday, March 4, and he said he felt good after he dealt with shoulder fatigue late last season. "It definitely feels completely different than the last month and a half, two months that I threw last year," Buchholz said. "That's what I wanted to feel like coming into camp, and I just have to keep working day to day and getting out there every five days."

Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell said SP Jake Peavy would start a potential Game 7 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals "as of now." Peavy has struggled in his last two starts, though, leaving SP Felix Doubront as a possibility to take the start if he doesn't pitch in Game 6 for multiple innings. SP Clay Buchholz (shoulder) could be available in Game 6, too, and SP Jon Lester figures to be available to pitch in Game 7 if needed.
