Texas Rangers RP Shawn Tolleson was used in the ninth inning in a non-save situation, and Texas relievers retired 12 of the final 13 hitters they faced in the win over the Cleveland Indians. Manager Jeff Banister said after the game that none of the previous bullpen roles will be followed. "I talked to those guys this morning collectively and individually and told them, that as we stand now, nobody has a specific role," Banister said. "We will find the best match for this club one inning at a time. We will treat it that way for now and see where it goes." RPs Ross Ohlendorf and Tanner Scheppers were used in innings six through eight Sunday with RP Neftali Feliz struggling. The Rangers planned to stick with Tolleson in the ninth if the save situation would have been in place. Feliz blew his third save of the season Saturday, May 16, and Texas has blown five saves before the ninth inning this year.
Fantasy Tip: If you're hurting for saves, Tolleson should be the immediate addition off the waiver wire while the Rangers experiment with their late-inning bullpen roles. Feliz could still see save chances here and there, so he's worth hanging onto. Scheppers could also figure into the ninth inning and might be worth speculating on in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Until we see a clearer picture in Texas, though, this situation could be messy and frustrating for fantasy owners.

Texas Rangers SPs Nick Tepesch, Nick Martinez, Alex Gonzalez, Anthony Ranaudo, Lisalverto Bonilla and Ross Ohlendorf are expected to compete for the final spot in the team's starting rotation.
Fantasy Tip: SPs Derek Holland, Yovani Gallardo, Colby Lewis and Ross Detwiler are expected to have the top four spots in the rotation locked up, in the wake of the injury to Yu Darvish (elbow). At this point, it appears that none of the six starters competing for the final rotation spot has an edge over the others, so keep checking back between now and the end of spring training for further updates.
