Cowboys | Two Dallas backs in pads Monday

Mon, 15 Aug 2016 15:36:30 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RBs Darren McFadden (elbow) and Lance Dunbar (knee) were in pads on the side for their rehabilitation work Monday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Both Dunbar and McFadden would be beneficial to the Cowboys' passing game upon their return. It's not clear exactly when they will return, though, and Ezekiel Elliott remains the primary running back. Dunbar and McFadden are still worth mid- to late-round consideration, with added value in PPR leagues.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden not close

Wed, 10 Aug 2016 14:26:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) is working hard in his recovery from offseason elbow surgery but is not expected to play in the near future, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see if McFadden will be ready for the start of the regular season. McFadden probably will be the primary backup running back this season and will see limited playing time. McFadden could be a late-round option in fantasy leagues as a handcuff to Ezekiel Elliott.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden designation update

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 12:35:23 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Friday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden is expected to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, but missing all of training camp is concerning. It'll plant him firmly behind Ezekiel Elliott on the depth chart, and there could be very limited touches behind the first-round selection, as Elliott is expected to be a true bell-cow back. McFadden is a depth grab in the later middle rounds of drafts, and he's also nice insurance for Elliott owners.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden on track for opener

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 10:05:21 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) received positive results from his bone scan, and he's on track for the season opener.

Fantasy Tip: The injury really couldn't have come at a worse time, and the buzz now revolves around Ezekiel Elliott. Some pundits have Elliott in line for 300-plus carries, which doesn't leave a lot of scraps for McFadden. He'll be active in the passing game, though, and he's still worth taking as an RB4 in PPR leagues.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden eyeing preseason return

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 18:29:32 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) will have a scan on his broken elbow Monday, July 25, and he said hopes to return during the preseason.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden should be owned in all formats in case something happens to Ezekiel Elliott on the field or if Elliott's recent off-field issues turn out to have long-term ramifications. However, McFadden is a merely a RB4 candidate if Elliott is available.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden story revised

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 09:38:32 -0700

Updating previous reports, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) said he was injured in a slightly different way than the team, who said McFadden was injured trying to save his cellphone, released to the public. McFadden said his phone was in his hand, but he slipped down and fell on the elbow. He said he still has a few weeks in a brace after June 14 surgery, and it's possible he could miss the season opener.

Fantasy Tip: Ezekiel Elliott has a golden opportunity in training camp and only has Alfred Morris to stave off. Morris has very meager RB4 or RB5 value in fantasy. Elliott has drawn rave reviews, but taking him as anything more than an RB2 is a risk. McFadden seems to have the upper hand over Morris because he's a better receiver than the former Redskin, but McFadden is an RB4 in fantasy.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden hurt in home accident

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 09:33:20 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) required surgery on a broken elbow after he was injured in an accident at home. McFadden is expected to miss two months and be ready by the end of training camp.

Fantasy Tip: The stage appears to be set for Ezekiel Elliott to take the bull by the horns. Alfred Morris should return into the picture as well. McFadden trumps Morris because he's a better receiver, but one has to wonder the value of having all three on the same team. Elliott is a high-end RB3 that will probably start sneaking into RB2 territory. McFadden, if he can return in time to have something resembling a training camp, is an RB4. Morris' value is tricky with the other two in the backfield, but he's an RB5 flyer.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden undergoes surgery

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 09:20:29 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) underwent surgery on his elbow Tuesday, June 14, and is expected back in time for the season opener, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

Fantasy Tip: Missing training camp could be bad for his usage. It gives rookie Ezekiel Elliott an entire camp to lead the way. He has a ton of hype already, and if he has a good camp, McFadden could be left with table scraps. The perfect-world scenario is a 50-50 split between the two, but McFadden may fall into the RB4 mix if he misses a big portion of camp.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden embracing role

Sun, 12 Jun 2016 18:33:03 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden called RB Ezekiel Elliott an "awesome runner" and said he is going to show him the ropes while still competing with Elliott for touches.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden is saying all the right things, but the Dallas backfield is going to belong to Elliott. McFadden could still be a viable RB3 in PPR formats, but his upside is severely capped with Elliott in town.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden not at practice

Wed, 01 Jun 2016 12:21:36 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (personal) was not present for organized team activities Wednesday, June 1, for personal reasons. RB Ezekiel Elliott ran with the first team in McFadden's absence, while RB Alfred Morris took snaps with the second team.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Elliott doesn't usually play with the first team, he's the running back to draft in Dallas. Elliott is the salt of the Cowboys' running back spices, while McFadden is the underwhelmingly flavored pepper and Morris is the cumin. Elliott has mid-range RB1 upside if he can stay healthy and fend off McFadden and Morris.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden could be traded

Tue, 31 May 2016 16:35:54 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden may end up as trade bait before the regular season, in the opinion of ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer.

Fantasy Tip: Trading McFadden would make sense for Dallas, who would still have Ezekiel Elliott and Alfred Morris to carry the load in the backfield. McFadden's fantasy value took a huge hit when Elliott was drafted; he should no longer be viewed as more than a low-end RB4 to high-end RB5, with extra value in PPR leagues.

Cowboys | Alfred Morris not available

Thu, 26 May 2016 19:09:27 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Alfred Morris and RB Darren McFadden are not available for trade, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Thursday, May 26.

Fantasy Tip: After selecting Ezekiel Elliott with the No. 4 pick in the NFL draft, the fantasy value of both McFadden and Morris takes a major hit. McFadden is worth grabbing later in drafts, but it would take an injury to Elliott for McFadden to become a starting-caliber back.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott must earn starting job

Thu, 26 May 2016 10:20:54 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott must compete to earn a starting role this year, according to running backs coach Gary Brown. Elliott was drafted fourth overall by the Cowboys and will compete with RBs Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris. "It's a lot faster pace," Elliott said. "The game moves so much faster. Yesterday, I'm not going to lie, I was a little bit shell-shocked. But today I came out. I was a little bit more prepared and was more ready mentally so it was a little bit easier for me."

Fantasy Tip: This is probably just coach speak. Dallas wouldn't have used a top-five pick on a running back if they weren't prepared to start him immediately. Elliott was the top back in the draft by a long shot, and he should contribute nicely for fantasy owners immediately behind an elite offensive line. Take Elliott as an RB2 with upside for more in 2016.

Cowboys | Ezekiel Elliott working with second team

Wed, 25 May 2016 22:59:33 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has been working with the second-team offense during organized team activities this week. RB Darren McFadden has been working with the starting offense.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Elliott will be the starter in Week 1, but he likely will become the starter at some point during his rookie season. Elliott should be considered a No. 2 running back in most leagues because should see plenty of touches each week. McFadden should be considered a No. 3 running back since he likely will see his carries drop as the season goes on.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden still starter in Dallas

Tue, 22 Mar 2016 14:35:20 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden is still viewed as the starting running back, according to owner Jerry Jones, although Jones said newly acquired RB Alfred Morris will still have a substantive role.

Fantasy Tip: This is one of those running back committees that don't necessarily prompt you to cheer or show any positive emotion. Morris will likely be used mostly on short-yardage and goal-line carries, while McFadden should be used more in the passing game. McFadden has added value in PPR leagues and could still finish as an RB2 in PPR formats. Morris is in RB3 to RB4 territory.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden to carry load early?

Sun, 20 Mar 2016 20:47:53 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden will likely open 2016 as the starting running back and see a majority of the work on all downs, according to beat writer David Moore, but Moore added that he believes the team will also draft a back and transition them into a larger role as the year goes on.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden enjoyed a solid 2015 season once he became the lead back, and despite the injury risk, he should be viewed as a RB2 heading into next season.

Cowboys | Dallas likely to add RB in draft

Sun, 28 Feb 2016 13:20:01 -0800

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is confident the team will add a running back this offseason to work in tandem with RB Darren McFadden.

Fantasy Tip: Some are suggesting the Cowboys could even target Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott as high as No. 4 overall, but a more likely scenario has them addressing their defense and/or quarterback-in-waiting over the first two days of the draft. Either way, McFadden is highly unlikely to repeat the voluminous workload he did after supplanting Joseph Randle last season and may be no better than a flex option going forward.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden has bounce-back year

Tue, 05 Jan 2016 13:01:36 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden had his best season since 2010, totaling 1,089 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden has put together back-to-back healthy seasons, playing in all 16 games the last two years. He took advantage of his opportunity after Joseph Randle derailed. Whether or not McFadden is the boy crying wolf remains to be seen, but he should be considered a RB2 going into next season's fantasy drafts.

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 17:49:57 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden had 12 carries for 92 yards and five catches for 53 yards in a 34-23 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 17, reaching 1,000 yards rushing for the second time in his career.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden performed well when he was finally made the starter, and if he enters next year in the same role, he should be a solid RB2 in all formats.

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 14:49:20 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden rushed for 99 yards on 19 carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden has been a solid addition for the Cowboys this season and should be a focal point on offense in Week 17. He has rushed for at least 99 yards in four of his last six games and could be a solid starting option against the Redskins.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden tops 100 yards

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 19:17:42 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden had nine carries for 111 yards in a 28-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys had to abandon the run after falling behind, slowing what could have been an even bigger performance. McFadden has had several big games this year, but don't expect one next week against a solid New York Jets defense.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden finishes up

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 22:44:31 -0800

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (head) left the Week 13 game against the Washington Redskins Monday, Dec. 7, to be evaluated for concussion. He was able to return after a brief absence.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden finished with 53 yards on 14 carries and he had a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He remains a decent RB2 or flex FantasyScore option heading into Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden having head checked

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 19:15:14 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (head) left the Week 13 game against the Washington Redskins in the third quarter. He suffered an apparent head injury on a carry which resulted in a fumble, and he was being checked on the sidelines before heading off to the locker room for further evaluation.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden leads the team with 35 rushing yards on nine carries while hauling in one reception for six yards. If he cannot continue it would be Robert Turbin and Rod Smith likely picking up the slack.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden does not do much

Thu, 26 Nov 2015 17:46:10 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden rushed for 11 yards on 10 carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 12. He also caught four passes for 45 yards during the game.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden was facing a tough Panthers defense, so there was a chance he was going to struggle. McFadden was involved in the passing game, which helps his fantasy value. He probably will receive a bigger role if Tony Romo is sidelined and could be a solid option next week against the Washington Redskins.

Cowboys | Three Cowboys expected to play

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 11:47:50 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee), RB Darren McFadden (groin) and QB Tony Romo (back, shoulder) are all probable for Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers Thursday, Nov. 26, and they all practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: None of this trio should really excite you on FantasyScore this week going up against the Panthers. Bryant ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) is a tough sell to return profit going against shutdown corner Josh Norman. Romo ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) has a tall task against a nasty defense in his second game back. And DMC ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) should have a heavy workload but might not be able to break through against a stout defensive front.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back, shoulder), WR Dez Bryant (foot, knee) and RB Darren McFadden (groin) were limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys' offense as a whole faces a tough task in succeeding against the Carolina Panthers this week. Romo ($8,100, 16.2% of cap), McFadden ($6,400, 12.8%) and Bryant ($8,300, 16.6%) are each still worth starting, but expectations should be tempered.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden emerges as workhorse

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 22:12:12 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden had 29 carries in the Week 11 win against the Miami Dolphins, and he is stepping up as the team's workhorse back. Over the past five games he has 122 carries for 494 yards. "I feel great," McFadden said Monday, Nov. 23. "Just taking care of my body. Get a little bit of rest the next couple days."

Fantasy Tip: McFadden has re-emerged as a solid RB2 or flex play in FantasyScore and most other fantasy formats, but keep in mind he has had plenty of injuries in the past. Until he does this workhorse deal for a couple of seasons in a row, there will always be worry. He has played all 16 games only once in his seven NFL seasons.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden limited

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 15:52:16 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) was limited during practice Monday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden was able to play in Week 11 despite the injury and posted 129 rushing yards. He will be facing a solid Carolina Panthers defense Thursday, Nov. 26, but should still be a solid option for owners on FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden surpasses 100-yard mark

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 14:16:32 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden rushed for 129 yards on 29 carries against the Miami Dolphins in Week 11. He also caught three passes for 20 yards in the game.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden has played well since taking over as the starting running back and has rushed for at least 100 yards in three of his last five games. McFadden will be facing a tough Carolina Panthers in Week 12 but should still be a solid starting option.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden to start Sunday

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 08:07:45 -0800

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) will start in Week 11's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has a rather favorable matchup versus the Dolphins, who have one of the worst rushing defenses in the league. Only the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns have allowed more yards on the ground this season than the Dolphins, who have given up an average of 4.2 yards per carry and 135.6 yards per game. McFadden merits serious consideration as a value pick in FantasyScore this week.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden expected to play

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 07:06:09 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) is expected to play in Week 11's game against the Miami Dolphins, even though he was limited in practice with a groin injury.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) could be a decent FantasyScore value pick this week because the Dolphins have had difficulty stopping the run this year. Miami is ranked 31st in the NFL in rushing yards allowed, with an average of 135.6 yards given up per game.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden says he's fine

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 14:45:47 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) said "I'm good" when talking about his strained groin. He was held to a limited practice as a precaution Friday, Nov. 20.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Dallas is just being careful with McFadden ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) since their running back depth is lacking these days. In a nice matchup against the Miami Dolphins this weekend, DMC is an excellent value pick on FantasyScore. The Fish allow 28.7 PPR fantasy points to running backs per game this year.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden listed as questionable

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 12:26:53 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 20, and is listed as questionable for the Week 11 game against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) may be a game-time decision for the game, so owners should keep an eye out on the situation. McFadden would have a favorable matchup if he plays and could be a starting option, but owners should have other options ready in case he misses the game.

Cowboys | More on Darren McFadden ailment

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 08:46:58 -0800

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) started having an issue with his groin Wednesday, Nov. 18, and he didn't do much in practice Thursday, Nov. 19.

Fantasy Tip: There isn't a lot of cause for concern yet. However, if McFadden ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) is limited again Friday, there may be a big red flag surfacing. Run DMC has a decent matchup against the Miami Dolphins, and he's a solid flex option on FantasyScore if healthy.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden limited Thursday

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 13:57:30 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (groin) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 19, with a groin injury. The injury is not believed to be serious, however, and the Cowboys were just keeping McFadden fresh.

Fantasy Tip: No extra worry needed here. McFadden ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) will still be able to play in a great matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Miami is allowing over 105 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown per game over the last five weeks to running backs, making McFadden a tremendous option for Week 11 FantasyScore lineups.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden goes the distance

Sun, 08 Nov 2015 22:21:12 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden was the only running back to record carries in the Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He ran 27 times for 117 yards and he added one reception for five yards.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has always had the potential to be a stud in FantasyScore, but he has struggled to stay on the field due to a multitude of injuries. He appears to be the top dog in Big D, and a slam dunk play at this price level.

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden had 20 carries for 64 yards and six catches for 49 yards in a 13-12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) continues to dominate the backfield with Joseph Randle sidelined, and until Randle is healthy, McFadden is a viable starting option at FantasyScore.

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (cramps) is dealing with cramping and went to the locker room in the third quarter of the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks to receive intravenous fluids. He was able to check back in late in the third quarter after missing one drive.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) returned and was able to go over 100 total yards from scrimmage to make some fantasy owners very happy. He is a strong mid-tier FantasyScore option when healthy.

Sun, 01 Nov 2015 15:28:07 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (undisclosed) jogged off to the locker room midway through the third quarter of the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain what the source and severity of Run DMC's injury might be, but he has 50 yards on 13 carries with five receptions for 46 yards. If he cannot return it would be Christine Michael ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) shouldering the load.

Cowboys | Joseph Randle misses treatment

Thu, 29 Oct 2015 06:08:05 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle (oblique) missed a scheduled treatment Wednesday, Oct. 28, after he was told he was demoted in favor of RB Darren McFadden. Randle is expected back at the facility Thursday, Oct. 29.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has a tough matchup against the Seattle Seahawks this week. He could figure into the passing game a bit, but he's a risky midrange grab on FantasyScore. As for Randle, he could still have a shot to produce when he returns to health. Keep him stashed if possible in traditional leagues.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden has earned more touches

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 09:38:59 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden ran for 152 yards in Week 7 against the New York Giants, his fourth-highest single-game total of his career. Head coach Jason Garrett thought McFadden was outstanding and that he has earned the right to see more touches moving forward. "Absolutely," Garrett said. "We will get back to work (Tuesday) and we will give him his opportunities and keep the whole thing competitive for everybody. But he has certainly earned some more touches." McFadden was the first 100-yard rusher for Dallas this year.

Fantasy Tip: Joseph Randle is injured and is expected to miss time, so McFadden ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) was already lined up to become the starter at least for Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. He should now be owned in all fantasy formats, but he's a tough pick on FantasyScore against the Seattle Seahawks this weekend.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden will start

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 06:58:06 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden will be the starting running back in the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to owner/general manager Jerry Jones.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden likely will receive most of the carries with Joseph Randle out of the lineup. He is coming off a game where he rushed for 152 yards and one touchdown. McFadden will be facing a tough Seahawks defense but could still be a starting option for owners.

Cowboys | Joseph Randle to miss some time

Mon, 26 Oct 2015 09:44:05 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle (oblique) is dealing with an oblique injury and is likely to miss some time, according to a source. Randle will be re-evaluated Monday, Oct. 26. RB Darren McFadden had a season-high 152 rushing yards in the Week 7 loss to the New York Giants in Randle's absence.

Fantasy Tip: Randle's fantasy stock was already plummeted before the injury, so his owners should've already been making plans to replace him. McFadden is now a must-own in all leagues, and Christine Michael will also see plenty of more work. McFadden shouldn't be a popular daily pick heading into the Week 8 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, though.

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden had 29 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown and two catches for 10 yards in a 27-20 loss to the New York Giants in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) was a workhorse in the backfield after Joseph Randle ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) left early with an injury, and he showed what he is capable of if Randle were to miss time. Even if Randle returns next week, McFadden may have earned himself a bigger role.

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden played 32 snaps in Week 5, with RB Joseph Randle playing 29 snaps.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) was crucial in the passing game in Week 5. He could be a worthwhile flyer on FantasyScore when the Cowboys return from their Week 6 bye. Randle ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) is a big question mark right now.

Cowboys | Darren McFadden may be receiver

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 07:19:11 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden is expected to take over RB Lance Dunbar's (knee) role during passing situations, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: McFadden's ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) involvement in the passing game will help his fantasy value in all fantasy leagues. McFadden could also receive more carries if Joseph Randle ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) fails to produce. McFadden could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.

Cowboys | Dallas to use RB rotation

Fri, 09 Oct 2015 20:24:29 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle will start the Week 5 game against the New England Patriots in Week 5, with RB Darren McFadden seeing action a couple of series later and then giving way to RB Christine Michael. According to vice president Stephen Jones, the team will go with the hot hand from there.

Fantasy Tip: Randle ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) is likely going to see more touches than McFadden ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) and Michael ($3,000, 6.0% of cap), but it isn't a guarantee. FantasyScore players likely want to steer far clear of this messy and fluid situation.

Cowboys | No plans for Dallas to add RB

Tue, 06 Oct 2015 19:43:14 -0700

Despite the loss of Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) for the season, the team does not plan on bringing in another running back, a source said Tuesday, Oct. 6. RB Christine Michael was added and will serve as the No. 3 tailback behind RBs Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden.

Fantasy Tip: Randle ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) and McFadden ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) will see a majority of the reps, but Michael ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) will see an increase in workload. Still, your best bet for FantasyScore is Randle.
