Phil Barber, of The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden was effectively being used as a wide receiver in Week 14, catching a slant pass for 48 yards and another for 26 yards. McFadden said his father had been urging him to use the stiff-arm more, which resulted in his 48-yard reception. McFadden straight-armed Washington Redskins FS LaRon Landry for an extra 20-25 yards on the play.

Head coach Tom Cable said he prefers to use a tandem of RBs Justin Fargas and Darren McFadden. "I don't know there's room for it right now. It's a matter of getting in flow," Cable said. "The plan was to come out and move Darren around so that means Darren and Justin."
