Tue, 03 Sep 2013 11:04:58 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) is close to returning after being activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list. However, there is no timetable for his return.

Fantasy Tip: Just because Miller was activated from the PUP doesn't mean he'll be ready to play in Week 1. Even if he does suit up, he's probably not a great option to start. Matt Spaeth will fill his shoes if he can't play.

Steelers | Matt Spaeth understands role

Sun, 16 Jun 2013 20:45:47 -0700

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Matt Spaeth might start the regular season as a starter if TE Heath Miller (knee) is not ready. However, he is considered a strong blocking tight end, which would help trigger the running back. He understands he probably won't see the ball as much as Miller did even as a starter. "I'm a role guy, and I know I've got a role, and I never worry about how many balls are being thrown to me," Spaeth said.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Spaeth were able to start in Week 1, his fantasy value would be negligible. He is more of a pass-block specialist rather than a threat in the receiving game.
