The San Francisco Giants placed OF Andres Torres (Achilles') on the 15-day disabled list with a left Achilles' strain Thursday, Aug. 22, and recalled INF Nick Noonan and OF Francisco Peguero from Triple-A Fresno in corresponding moves. Also, RP Mike Kickham was optioned to Fresno.
Fantasy Tip: Gregor Blanco should now move into an everyday role in center field with Torres sidelined. However, with Angel Pagan (hamstring) nearing a return, that'll probably be short-lived.

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco was hitless in three at-bats with a walk and a strikeout Wednesday, Aug. 14, against the Washington Nationals. He is now hitting just .113 since the All-Star break.
Fantasy Tip: Blanco is only worth using in the deepest of NL-only fantasy leagues right now until he starts to show a little more consistency at the plate.

San Francisco Giants OF Andres Torres might be in danger of losing his roster spot as soon as Saturday, July 13. If he remains on the roster, he is likely to fall back into a platoon in center field with OF Gregor Blanco.

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) is pretty much done for the year, general manager Brian Sabean said on the radio on Friday, July 5.
Fantasy Tip: This isn't surprising, but there was some hope he'd be back in September. Fantasy owners don't have to worry about letting him go, and Gregor Blanco should continue to rule in center field as long as he's producing. Andres Torres has received most of the time in left, so it'll be interesting to see if the Giants look for alternatives. Cole Gillespie just replaced Juan C. Perez on the 25-man roster, but Perez is likely the only other in-house candidate who could factor in.

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) will undergo surgery on a small tear to his hamstring Tuesday, June 24, and will miss the next 10-to-12 weeks.
Fantasy Tip: It is likely that Juan C. Perez, Gregor Blanco and Andres Torres will all see playing time in Paganís absence, with Perez being in line to get most of the starts.
Wed, 19 Jun 2013 12:34:44 -0700
San Francisco Giants OF Juan C. Perez, who is starting in center field Wednesday, June 19, has earned more playing time, and he could play more than OF Andres Torres when OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) returns from the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Perez's quick impression should earn him a look, but only in NL-only leagues for now. Torres and Gregor Blanco remain in the picture and could steal starts from Perez if he cools off.

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) has improved, according to manager Bruce Bochy, but the outfielder won't be activated from the disabled list before the team's road trip ends this Sunday, June 16. Pagan has yet to jog or perform any baseball activities.
Fantasy Tip: At this point, Pagan may even need a very short rehab assignment, so this absence seems likely to extend into next week. Gregor Blanco will continue to fill in most of the time in center field and at leadoff.

The San Francisco Giants placed OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, June 7, and recalled OF Juan C. Perez from Triple-A Fresno in a corresponding move. Pagan's DL stint has been back dated to May 28.
Fantasy Tip: As they've been using for a full week now, the Giants will stick with a three-man outfield of Hunter Pence, Andres Torres and Gregor Blanco. Since Pagan's DL stint is backdated, though, he can return next week, limiting the fill-in value of Torres. This has been a frustrating situation for Pagan's fantasy owners.

San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) is not in the team's lineup Wednesday, June 5, against the Toronto Blue Jays. It's the 10th straight contest he won't start.
Fantasy Tip: The Giants have already used the full window of allowable time to backdate a DL stint, so if they think he'll be ready in a couple of days, they may continue to push their luck. Fantasy owners are simply much better off not relying on him until something changes. Gregor Blanco and Andres Torres may end up being nice short-term pickups in deep leagues at this rate.
