Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Chris Iannetta (wrist) has been diagnosed with a fractured right wrist, and he'll undergo surgery Friday, May 11. C Bobby Wilson will take over the primary catching duties, and the Angels will add another catcher Friday. C Hank Conger (elbow) is on the disabled list with Triple-A Salt Lake and hasn't played since mid-April. Cs Robinzon Diaz and John Hester are other options at Salt Lake. They could also choose to go to Class AA and select C Alberto Rosario.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Hank Conger (elbow) was placed on the 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Salt Lake due to right elbow injury. "Just a light sprain in the elbow," Conger said via text message. "I'll be good. Should be back in a couple of weeks. Nothing serious." Cs Robinzon Diaz and John Hester will split time behind the plate for the Bees while Conger is on the shelf.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim assigned Ps Matt Shoemaker, Daniel Tillman and Matt Meyer and Cs Robinzon Diaz and Doug Deeds to minor league camp Thursday, March 15. Ps Johnny Hellweg and Ariel Pena were optioned to Double-A Arkansas. P Fabio Martinez was optioned to Single-A Inland Empire and INF Luis Jimenez was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed free-agent OF Ryan Langerhans (Diamondbacks), SP Eric Hurley (Rangers) and C Robinzon Diaz (Rangers) to minor league deals with invites to spring training Friday, Dec. 23.

The Texas Rangers signed 1B Jose Julio Ruiz to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, according to The Sports Network. The Rangers also signed two other players, P Ty Taubenheim and C Robinzon Diaz, to minor league contracts without spring invites. No financial terms were disclosed.

Included on the invite list were SS Gustavo Nunez, Cs Robinzon Diaz, Mike Rabelo, John Murrian, Eric Roof and Max St. Pierre, IFs Kory Casto and Jeff Larish, and Ps Cody Satterwhite, Robbie Weinhardt, Phil Dumatrait, Enrique Gonzalez and Josh Rainwater.

Dejan Kovacevic, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Pirates released C Robinzon Diaz Monday, Nov. 30. Diaz apparently has no plans to re-sign with the team.
