The Associated Press reports the New York Yankees are on pace to be the first team in major league history to start 10 different pitchers through 30 games with SPs Darrell Rasner and Matt DeSalvo slated to start games this weekend. The Yankees have also started SPs Andy Pettitte, Mike Mussina, Philip Hughes, Chien-Ming Wang, Kei Igawa, Jeffrey Karstens, Carl Pavano and Chase Wright this season.

The Associated Press' Howard Ulman reports New York Yankees rookie SP Chase Wright yielded home runs to four straight Boston Red Sox players Sunday, April 22, to tie a major league record. Red Sox OF Manny Ramirez, OF J.D. Drew, 3B Mike Lowell and C Jason Varitek all homered against him in a span of 13 pitches in the third inning. Wright was making his second big league start and is now carrying a 7.88 ERA. He lasted three innings, with all the damage coming in his final inning. He also walked three and fanned three.
