MLB.com's Bill Ladson reports Washington Nationals minor league 1B Matt Whitney hit .268 with 10 homers and 56 RBIs in 2008 at Double-A Akron, in the Cleveland Indians organization. The 24-year-old's production fell off after a solid 2007 campaign spent at Class A Lake County and Class A Kinston, where he hit a combined .299 with 32 homers and 113 RBIs.
