The Milwaukee Brewers optioned INF Brooks Conrad to Triple-A Nashville Saturday, May 19. OF Carlos Gomez (hamstring) is expected to come off the 15-day disabled list Sunday, May 20.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Corey Hart (knee) will open the season on the active roster after making a quick return from knee surgery in spring training. Hart played in five straight minor league games and felt fine. He will play in the team's final two spring games this week. Hart will hit fifth in the lineup behind 3B Aramis Ramirez. INF Brooks Conrad will likely earn the final roster spot with 1B Travis Ishikawa starting at Triple-A Nashville.

If Milwaukee Brewers OF Corey Hart (knee) makes the Opening Day roster, INF Brooks Conrad is expected to win the final spot on the bench. If Hart opens the season on the disabled list, 1B Travis Ishikawa would likely take his place until he returns.

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Brooks Conrad and 3B Taylor Green are apparently battling it out for the final bench spot. Green was the team's minor league player of the year. He likely needs to show he can play first base to make the roster.
