Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports if the Buffalo Bills want to upgrade their No. 2 running back position, they could turn to free agent RB Garrison Hearst (Broncos). He visited Buffalo earlier this offseason, but as of this afternoon the Bills had not reinitiated contact with Hearst.

Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan discussed the progress of rookie RB Tatum Bell and how the play of RB Garrison Hearst has limited the rookie's opportunities this season. "It is hard to get a No. 2 spot unless you earn it," Shanahan said. "Garrison Hearst has done a great job for us. I think we all know what Garrison has done, and what he means to this football team. Sooner or later, Tatum will get in there and he'll get his opportunities, and when he does, hopefully he'll take advantage of it."
