|Padres | Carlos Quentin leaves early|
Fri, 25 Jul 2014 18:48:30 -0700
San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin (undisclosed) left the game Friday, July 25, against the Atlanta Braves due to an undisclosed reason. He struck out, and appeared to be frustrated returning to the dugout. OF Will Venable replaced him in the lineup midway through the game.
Fantasy Tip: It is unknown if Quentin suffered an injury, but given his medical history, it wouldn't be shocking in the least to see him on the shelf again.

Wed, 23 Jul 2014 12:14:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Will Venable, Jeff Francoeur and Chris Denorfia could receive more playing time with Maybin suspended, but there have been reports that Denorfia could be moved by the trade deadline. Owners in deep leagues could consider adding Venable to their team, while Francoeur and Denforia should only be considered in NL-only leagues for now.

|Padres | Cameron Maybin could return sooner|
Fri, 07 Mar 2014 08:45:46 -0800
San Diego Padres OF Cameron Maybin (biceps) is opting not to have surgery to fix his ruptured left biceps tendon after meeting with doctors Thursday, March 6. Now, he may be able to return in four to six weeks instead of the initial diagnosis of two to three months. OF Will Venable will likely take Maybin's spot in the lineup and in center field.
Fantasy Tip: This is great news unless he suffers a setback and eventually needs surgery, which could end his season. Maybin may wind up only missing part of the first month of the season, which might warrant drafting him late in a very deep league if you have DL spots available to use.

|Padres | Cameron Maybin out 2-3 months|
Mon, 03 Mar 2014 12:17:12 -0800
Fantasy Tip: The Friars will likely shift Will Venable to center field. Chris Denorfia and Seth Smith can form a platoon in right field, with both players being valuable mainly in NL-only leagues. Maybin's 2013 season was derailed by injuries, and this year hasn't started any better. He could become a force for stolen bases later in the year, but he shouldn't be drafted in standard leagues now.
