Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez sitting out

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 15:04:32 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is out of the lineup Saturday, July 4, against a left-handed starter. OF Brandon Barnes is hitting eighth in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is in a 2-for-17 slump (.118) the last seven days and isn't a good option on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez has five hits

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 04:25:16 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez had a career-best five hits Friday, June 26, as the Rockies scored an 8-6 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has had a decent season so far, nearly matching his 70 games played last year. His average is up by 15 points, and he has 10 home runs. These numbers add up to a good reason to play him on a regular basis, when he is healthy. He just returned to the lineup on Friday and appears to have shaken off the effects of a hand injury.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez returns to lineup

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 17:05:11 -0700

Confirming a previous report, Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) is back in the starting lineup against the San Francisco Giants Friday, June 26, batting cleanup against SP Tim Hudson.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is back in the lineup for the first time since Sunday, June 21. His low price tag makes him tempting for FantasyScore owners to use but he is only 4-for-21 (.190) against Hudson in his career, with one home run and two RBIs.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez due back Friday

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 08:33:55 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) is expected to return to the lineup Friday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Car-Go ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has a disappointing .237-10-27 line on the season, but that price is quite tempting on FantasyScore against Tim Hudson.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez still out

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 11:11:57 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, June 25. OF Brandon Barnes is starting in right field and hitting eighth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa.

Fantasy Tip: Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap), who is hitting .299 (29-for-97) with a home run and eight RBI, isn't a bad sleeper pick while taking hacks at Coors Field. He's hitting .316 (24-for-76) with his only homer against right-handed pitching and has a slash line of .354/.447/.477 at home this year.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez swings bat

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez out again vs. Arizona

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 16:33:50 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 24. 1B Ben Paulsen is starting in left field and batting fifth, and OF Brandon Barnes is starting in right field and batting eighth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Allen Webster Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) in all formats Wednesday. His injury comes at an unfortunate time, too, as he was sporting a .900 OPS with six home runs and 14 RBI through 19 games in June. Paulsen ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) and Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) are upside value plays at FantasyScore whenever they play at home in hitter-friendly Coors Field, especially Paulsen hitting in the five-hole Wednesday.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez could return Wednesday

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 12:27:00 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) didn't play due to a sprained left hand Tuesday, June 23, but the team doesn't seem very concerned, and he could return Wednesday, June 24. Gonzalez is a .300 career hitter in more than 300 plate appearances against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to check to see if Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is in the starting lineup tonight before putting him in your FantasyScore lineups. If he's playing, Car-Go could be a great value pick at home against a right-hander. Gonzalez has all 10 of his home runs against righties this year, and half of his long balls have come at Coors Field.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez injures hand

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 19:15:54 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (hand) exited in the fifth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers after banging into the right-field wall attempting to make a leaping catch Sunday, June 21. X-rays were negative, and he was wearing a heavy wrap on his hand after the game. "I took a couple of dry swings and it was sore so they decided to take me out of the game and do treatment," Gonzalez said. "No bone problems. Hopefully it's nothing bad."

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been hitting well recently, but make sure to check on the status of his hand before using him at FantasyScore going forward.
