Diamondbacks | Jeremy Hellickson wins fourth in a row at home

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 04:12:46 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson picked up his fourth straight win at Chase Field Thursday, July 2, as the Diamondbacks defeated the Colorado Rockies 8-1. He struck out six in seven innings of work.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) appears to have found his groove at home, as he improved to 6-5 overall. Hellickson won't win every home start, but his numbers at Chase suggest he is a good starter in FantasyScore formats when pitching there.

Diamondbacks | Jeremy Hellickson roughed up

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 05:25:12 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson allowed 10 hits and seven runs over 5 1/3 innings Saturday, June 27, against the San Diego Padres. Hellickson is now 1-2, with a 7.55 ERA and 31 hits allowed over 22 2/3 innings from four starts against the Padres this season.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) still managed eight strikeouts on the night but it was a poor showing after he allowed a total of four runs across his previous two starts. Hellickson will carry some risk when he faces the Colorado Rockies Thursday, July 2, in Arizona.

Diamondbacks | Jeremy Hellickson set to start Saturday

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 15:20:24 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson (back) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, June 24, and he said he will be fine to make his next start against the San Diego Padres Saturday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) tweaked his back while hitting and had to leave his last start in the sixth inning Sunday, June 21. He has been a nice value play at FantasyScore recently, as he has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. View him as a high-risk, high-reward flier in daily contest Saturday.

Diamondbacks | Jeremy Hellickson on nice run

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 14:00:32 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson has won his last three starts and has thrown four straight quality starts, going 3-0 with a 3.28 ERA during that span. Hellickson gave up three earned runs in a no-decision in 5 1/3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers last year. Hellickson faces the Dodgers Wednesday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson's ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) streak of quality starts will surely be put to the test at Dodger Stadium tonight. Los Angeles has the best OPS (.804) against right-handed pitchers this season. Even though it's in a pitcher-friendly venue, avoid Hellickson on FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Jeremy Hellickson on the hill

Sat, 02 May 2015 17:42:14 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson will start against the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday, May 2.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) carries a 5.24 ERA and .333 batting average against into the start, and he should be avoided at FantasyScore against a Dodgers team ranked in the top 10 in most offensive categories.

Mon, 30 Mar 2015 14:50:08 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SPs Josh Collmenter, Rubby De La Rosa, Jeremy Hellickson, Chase Anderson and Trevor Cahill will be in the starting rotation, according to manager Chip Hale.

Fantasy Tip: Check back for updates on who will pitch when, but there is limited fantasy value in this rotation. Add the fact Arizona's home ballpark is extremely hitter friendly, and FantasyScore players will want to generally avoid utilizing these starters in contests.

Diamondbacks | Rotation up for grabs

Sun, 08 Feb 2015 00:58:44 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Josh Collmenter and SP Jeremy Hellickson will likely open the season in the starting rotation, but a wide variety of pitchers are in contention for the final three spots. SP Trevor Cahill and SP Vidal Nuno have the most major league experience. SP's Chase Anderson, Rubby De La Rosa, Allen Webster, and Robbie Ray received looks last season. Top SP prospect Archie Bradley will probably open the year in the minors. Other candidates include P's Andrew Chafin, Randall Delgado, and Daniel Hudson.
