Marlins | Jeremy Hellickson attracting Miami

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 11:38:23 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson has attracted interest from the Miami Marlins.

Fantasy Tip: The Fish are probably even more impressed after Hellickson tossed eight innings of one-run ball against them Wednesday night. The veteran righty is pitching like a guy wanting to be traded and has a 3.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 8.0 K/9 in 20 starts this year. He's certainly a matchup play in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, and his fantasy stock would only rise if he were dealt to the Marlins.

Phillies | Jeremy Hellickson solid versus Miami

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 19:30:51 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson (7-7) allowed one run on five hits over eight innings in a victory over the Miami Marlins Wednesday, July 20, with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson is 3-3 with a 3.00 ERA over his last seven outings and only increased his trade value with Wednesday's gem. If the 29-year-old right-hander doesn't get moved within the next few days, he will make his next scheduled start against the Marlins Monday, July 25, in Miami.

Orioles | O's interested in Jeremy Hellickson

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 15:59:25 -0700

The Baltimore Orioles have discussed trading for Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson, according to sources. The San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays are scouting him during his start Wednesday, July 20.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson is a bit under the fantasy radar playing for the Phils, but he has a respectable 4.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 7.9 K/9 in 19 starts (111 2/3 innings). He's one to utilize in the right matchups in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, although a move to hitter-friendly Camden Yards would put a damper on his fantasy profile in the second half.

Phillies | Jake Thompson headed to rotation?

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 04:39:40 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jake Thompson's turns at Class AAA Lehigh Valley are in sync with those of Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson. Should Hellickson be dealt at the deadline, Thompson could move in as Hellickson's immediate replacement.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson was acquired in the Cole Hamels trade from the Texas Rangers, and his numbers are favorable. He has a 2.42 earned run average in over 111 innings on the mound, with 2.6 walks and 6.2 strikeouts per nine innings. Thompson might make a decent starter in daily-league circles should he be brought up.

Phillies | Jeremy Hellickson knocked around

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 19:57:38 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out five over six innings in a loss to the New York Mets Friday, July 15.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson had allowed just one run in each of his last three starts, but he is prone to the occasional dud. Still, his name has been mentioned in trade talks, so he could be worth stashing in deeper mixed leagues in case he lands with a contender.

Mets | Yoenis Cespedes remains out

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 12:43:21 -0700

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes (quad) remains sidelined due to a quad strain, so OF Juan Lagares will bat eighth on Friday, July 15, against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson.

Fantasy Tip: Keep Cespedes on your bench until he is ready to come back. The team is hopeful that it could be any time. Lagares has limited fantasy value hitting towards the bottom.

Mets | Asdrubal Cabrera hitting second Friday

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 12:40:02 -0700

New York Mets SS Asdrubal Cabrera will hit second Friday, July 15, against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson.

Fantasy Tip: With seven hits, including two homers, in the past seven games the thinking might be to give Cabrera more at-bats toward the top of the lineup. That said, Cabrera (.262-12-29) should see more time in your lineup due to his power and the position where he is batting.

Red Sox | Boston interested in Jeremy Hellickson

Thu, 07 Jul 2016 17:29:46 -0700

The Boston Red Sox have recently scouted Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson, according to multiple sources, who added that they are considering numerous options for their starting rotation.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson is 6-6 with a 3.92 ERA in 18 starts this season, with 27 walks and 93 strikeouts over 105 2/3 innings, but he is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA over his last three outings. The 29-year-old right-hander is a decent starting option in the majority of fantasy formats and is worth using in DFS if he has a favorable matchup.

Phillies | Jeremy Hellickson good again at home

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 14:50:07 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson received a no-decision in his start Wednesday, July 6, versus the Atlanta Braves, but it wasn't for a lack of good pitching. The right-hander recorded his fourth straight quality start, yielding two runs (one earned) over six solid innings. He surrendered four hits, two walks and struck out three.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson has actually established himself as an acceptable option in deep formats, while also proving to be serviceable in some mixed leagues as well. He's been pretty consistent, having registered at least five innings in 13 straight starts, though he's really more of a guy to stream based on the matchup. He's been better at home this year, which is something owners should consider, too.

Phillies | Jeremy Hellickson victorious Friday

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 19:14:37 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson (6-6) allowed one run on five hits over six innings in a victory over the Kansas City Royals Friday, July 1, with one walk and six strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson, who is a prime candidate to be moved to a contender before the trade deadline, has tossed three consecutive quality starts. He should continue to be viewed as a solid pitching option in NL-only seasonal leagues and daily fantasy games. Hellickson has a favorable matchup for his next scheduled outing versus the Atlanta Braves Wednesday, July 6.
