Updating a previous report, the Star-Ledger reports the New York Jets have signed free agent OT Scott Gragg (49ers) to an undisclosed contract. "I'm excited," Gragg told the Star-Ledger last night. "It's a great opportunity to come back to a place I'm familiar with. It's a little different being with the Jets. But what's interesting is I felt there might be an opportunity during the offseason or early in training camp, and it didn't happen until now." Gragg said missing training camp won't be a problem. The Jets decided to sign Gragg now and guarantee his salary for the entire season, in part, because several teams where interested in him.

"I'm just waiting to see what will happen next," said the 33-year-old Gragg. "There have been a handful of teams that have expressed interest, but I am anticipating not finding a job before the end of training camp." Since June, Gragg has been doing a combination of Olympic-style weight lifting and core strength training to stay in shape. He said he is down to 305 pounds.
