Vikings | Adrian Peterson won't play this weekend

Thu, 14 Aug 2014 15:46:44 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson will not play in the team's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals Saturday, Aug. 16. He played in one series in the team's third preseason game last year, but other than that, he hasn't had a carry in the preseason since 2011.

Fantasy Tip: There's nothing to see here. The Vikes won't put AD in harm's way during the preseason, although he may see a series of action next week, if at all. Peterson remains one of the few options worth considering as your No. 1 overall fantasy pick.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson improving pass catching

Tue, 12 Aug 2014 10:02:19 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson appears to be improving his pass-catching skills. He dropped one pass in practice Monday, Aug. 11, but had some nice catches.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson is already one of the safest selections with one of the top three picks in fantasy drafts. Improving his pass-catching skills would go a long way in making him even more valuable, too, especially in point-per-reception formats.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson sits

Fri, 08 Aug 2014 21:20:13 -0700

As expected, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (rest) dressed for the preseason opener against the Oakland Raiders Friday, Aug. 8, but he did not play. Peterson hasn't had a carry in the preseason since the 2011 campaign.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson is unlikely to see many carries in the exhibition games, if he see any at all. Fantasy owners are pleased with seeing him with a baseball cap on the sidelines, as their cornerstone is not risking injury in meaningless games. He'll once again be one of the top fantasy running backs in the league.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson excited about offense

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 13:50:20 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said he is looking forward to playing in the team's new offense because it is more versatile than the one the team had been using for the last several seasons. "Let's call it what it is: I thought in the past, we've been predictable," Peterson said. "I'm sure you guys wrote stories about us being predictable the past seven years. You won't be able to write that story this year. That's pretty much all I'm saying. You won't be able to do that, because this offense is so versatile."

Fantasy Tip: Peterson could get more involved in the passing game in 2014, which will only help his fantasy value. He should be gone within the first few picks in all fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson could sit out preseason

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 10:10:57 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson does not need to play in the preseason to show something to the coaching staff, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer said Peterson could get a few carries during the preseason if Peterson asks to play.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson has shown he is one of the best running backs in the league and does not need to prove anything in preseason games. Peterson should be a top five pick in all fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson working on pass catching

Sat, 21 Jun 2014 09:19:22 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said he has been working on his pass-catching skills, because he likely will be asked to catch more passes in offensive coordinator Norv Turner's system. The team sees Peterson as an every-down running back, so he may have to pick up some blitzes on passing downs.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson should be a top-five pick in all fantasy leagues this season and becoming more of a pass catcher will only add to his value.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson plans to stick around

Thu, 19 Jun 2014 09:15:42 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has no plans to be done playing football by the time the team opens their new stadium in 2016. His current contract runs through the 2017 season, but he's the only running back in the league with a salary cap hit of more than $10 million this year, and the team could cut him without a cap penalty after next year.
