Cardinals | Adrian Peterson stacked up in loss

Sun, 19 Nov 2017 18:04:43 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson rushed 14 times for 26 yards in Week 11 against the Houston Texans and he had just one catch for 13 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson had two 100-yard games in his first three appearances with the team, and it looked like vintage AP. However, he has managed just 55 yards on 35 carries, or a paltry 1.6 yards per tote. That's simply not going to do. Things don't figure to get better against a stout Jaguars defense in Week 12.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson joins dubious list

Sat, 11 Nov 2017 19:31:13 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson became the seventh player in NFL history to gain less than 30 rushing yards while carrying the ball 20 or more times when he rushed for 29 yards on 21 carries against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: In four games since joining the Cardinals, Peterson has rushed for more than 130 yards twice and less than 30 yards twice. He will be a high-risk, high-reward RB2 against the Houston Texans in Week 11.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson stifled by Seahawks

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 21:21:53 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson carried the ball 21 times for 29 yards (1.4 YPC) during the team's 22-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10. Peterson caught one pass for 13 yards.

Fantasy Tip: You knew the Seahawks would load up to stop the run, but 29 yards on 21 carries is brutal production. That gives AD two huge games and two miserable games since joining the Cardinals. Expect the Houston Texans to adopt a similar gameplan in Week 11, but with the extra rest Peterson could return to RB2 status.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson sets NFL record

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 19:23:27 -0800

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson carried a career-high 37 times for 159 yards in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers. He had the most carries in NFL history for a running back over the age of 30.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson racked up his second 100-yard game since coming over from the New Orleans Saints in a trade, re-emerging as a solid RB2 fantasy option in most leagues. He and his teammates have a quick turnaround before hosting the Seahawks in Week 10 on Thursday night.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson to be featured

Fri, 03 Nov 2017 08:18:47 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson is expected to be featured in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers. "Feed the beast," offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin said of Peterson. "It's like an old stove. The more wood you put in it, the hotter it gets. We've just got to make sure we feed him the ball so he can get comfortable."

Fantasy Tip: The Niners have allowed the most fantasy points to running backs the last five weeks and all season. However, a big chunk of that has been through the air, which Peterson doesn't excel at. He should still see enough looks to be in the low-end RB2 realm.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson bottled up

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 17:13:35 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson rushed 11 times for just 21 yards in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams in London.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson and the Arizona offense have two weeks to figure it out with a bye. It will be a challenge for Arizona going forward, as the team lost Carson Palmer to a broken arm and he is expected to miss at least eight weeks.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson logs 48 snaps in debut

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 10:01:40 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson played 48-of-65 offensive snaps in Week 6 - his first game with the team since he was acquired from the New Orleans Saints earlier in the week.

Fantasy Tip: It's a shocking workload for a player who looked like he had roughly four days to prepare, but the 32-year-old Peterson continued to defy logic with 134 yards rushing and two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's back in the RB2 conversation in Week 7 as the Cardinals face a Los Angeles Rams run defense that has struggled to contain opposing running games all season long.

Cardinals | Huge debut for Adrian Peterson

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 20:07:02 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson finished with 26 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-33 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Playing from ahead against Tampa Bay's banged-up group of linebackers certainly helped Peterson pad his numbers, but it looks like he has a little more left in the tank than he was being given credit for. It might not hurt to try to sell high on Peterson after his big performance, but RB2 production isn't out of the question while David Johnson is out.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson coming out for third downs

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 08:47:59 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson will not play on third downs, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

Fantasy Tip: That was to be expected. Andre Ellington has received 24 targets on third down in the last two weeks. Peterson should be owned, but the expectations should be modest. Ellington keeps RB4 value in PPR formats.

Cardinals | Adrian Peterson atop depth chart

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 17:34:42 -0700

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson has already been installed as the starting running back on the team's first submission of the depth chart following his trade from the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Tip: This is hardly a surprise, considering the Cardinals only have Kerwynn Williams and Andre Ellington in reserve following Tuesday's release of Chris Johnson. Arizona seems committed to using Ellington primarily as a passing-down back, so Peterson will have to convince head coach Bruce Arians he needs more work by thriving on early downs. Peterson will have his work cut out for him behind a poor offensive line and figures to be no better than a RB3 in Arizona.
