Vikings | Adrian Peterson enters not guilty plea

Tue, 14 Oct 2014 09:45:57 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson entered a not guilty plea to the charge of injury to a child, according to documents filed to the 9th District Court in Montgomery County, Texas. His trial date is scheduled for Dec. 1, and a pretrial date is scheduled for Nov. 4, per court documents. Peterson will remain on the Exempt/Commissioner's permission list while he awaits trial.

Fantasy Tip: With Peterson's trial not scheduled to start for over a month, the likelihood that he plays again this year is extremely slim. If he's clogging up space on your roster, you can probably get away with dumping him at this point.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson judge won't recuse himself

Mon, 13 Oct 2014 17:48:23 -0700

The Texas judge in Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's child abuse case has rejected the prosecutors' request to step aside because of what they termed bias and various recent legal disagreements. The decision Monday, Oct. 13, by Judge Kelly Case, who sits on the Montgomery County 9th District Court, comes after Case was said to have referred to the lead attorney of each side as "media whores." On Monday, Peterson entered a formal plea of not guilty on the abuse charge he is facing. The plea was entered Oct. 8, the day of his court appearance, but not made public until Monday afternoon.

Vikings | AP wants to resolve case swiftly

Sun, 21 Sep 2014 18:42:36 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson wants his representation to accelerate his trial date for child-abuse charges, with the goal of getting it set for 2014, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The broader goal will be to resolve the charges in time for Peterson to return to action for the Vikings this year. He would need to resolve the charges in a way that doesn't expose him to a potential suspension without pay under the personal-conduct policy.

Fantasy Tip: Until Peterson returns, it appears to be the Matt Asiata show. He hasn't lit it up in place of Peterson, but he has been an adequate low-end RB2 or flex play. Jerick McKinnon is waiting in the wings, but he was limited to four touches and suffered an injury. As far as AP, all fantasy owners can do is wait and hope their first-round pick can return sooner rather than later.
