Oakland Athletics SP Brett Anderson (forearm) has been shut down for several days because of forearm stiffness. However, it is not considered to be a major concern because he's already ahead of schedule and forearm stiffness is often experienced by pitchers recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Oakland Athletics SP Brett Anderson (elbow) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and he's hoping to make a start in extended spring training next week. He could alternate rehab starts with Single-A Stockton and Triple-A Sacramento later this month, and if he doesn't suffer any setbacks, Anderson could rejoin the rotation by the end of June or in early July.
