Braves | Cameron Maybin starting Tuesday

Tue, 05 May 2015 14:31:03 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin is starting in center field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Philadelphia Phillies SP Chad Billingsley Tuesday, May 5. OF Eric Young Jr. starts on the bench yet again.

Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) will continue to be a frustrating play at the bottom of the lineup for Atlanta. The matchup is nice going against Billingsley in his season debut, but Maybin remains an unattractive FantasyScore play.

Braves | Cameron Maybin starting in CF

Mon, 04 May 2015 13:48:00 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Monday, May 4. OF Eric Young Jr. is sitting the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting just .222 (10-for-45), but he does have four home runs and nine RBI on the season and has been more productive in center field than Young this year. Maybin is an inconsistent performer at the plate and won't be that attractive to FantasyScore users unless he's near the top of the lineup.

Braves | Eric Young starting in CF

Thu, 30 Apr 2015 12:03:44 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Young Jr. is starting in center field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Cincinnati Reds SP Mike Leake Thursday, April 30. OF Cameron Maybin is out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is batting only .169 (10-for-59) with three stolen bases so far this year, and hitting at the bottom of the batting order really doesn't do much for FantasyScore users. Until he gets going, Young isn't an attractive play for daily gamers.

Braves | Eric Young batting eighth

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 13:43:28 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Young Jr. is batting eighth and playing center field against the Washington Nationals Wednesday, April 29.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has started five of the last seven games in center field over Cameron Maybin ($2,400, 4.8% of cap), as Young appears to be earning the majority of starts. Young has just five hits through his last 37 plate appearances, though, and he shouldn't be counted on in FantasyScore contests until he shows some life at the dish.

Braves | Kelly Johnson receives another start

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 13:20:02 -0700

Atlanta Braves 3B Kelly Johnson is starting in left field and hitting sixth in the batting order against Washington Nationals SP A.J. Cole Tuesday, April 28. OF Eric Young Jr. is sitting on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) hit his third home run of the year last night, and he's hitting .375 (6-for-16) with a dinger and five RBI since April 22. He remains a sleeper pick for a cheap price at FantasyScore, but he's once again attractive while Cole makes his major league debut tonight.

Braves | Cameron Maybin not in lineup

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 15:08:09 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 27. OF Eric Young Jr. is starting in center field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Washington Nationals SP Doug Fister.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is off to a pretty bad start to 2015, hitting only .189 (10-for-53) with three stolen bases. His appeal is mainly for his stolen bases, but he's not doing FantasyScore users any good hitting near the bottom of the lineup, either. He's a low-end outfield option in daily lineups.

Braves | Eric Young leading off Wednesday

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 13:13:05 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Young Jr. is starting in center field and hitting leadoff against New York Mets SP Dillon Gee Wednesday, April 22. OF Cameron Maybin is sitting on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is off to a slow start at the plate, hitting only .176 (6-for-34) with three RBI and two stolen bases. Hitting atop of the lineup gives him slightly more appeal for those FantasyScore owners willing to trust him against Gee tonight.

Braves | Eric Young off to slow start

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 14:29:40 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Young Jr. is hitting just .182 (6-for-33) to start the season.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) hasn't had the start to 2015 that he'd like, and the acquisition of Cameron Maybin has hurt his overall fantasy value with infrequent playing time. When Young is in there and hitting atop the lineup, he's a cheap and under-the-radar source of stolen bases at FantasyScore.

Braves | Cameron Maybin hitting Tuesday

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 13:44:59 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Cameron Maybin is in the lineup Tuesday, April 21, and OF Eric Young Jr. is on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) should not be touched as he is 2-for-17 (.118) with one home run in his last seven days of action. Look for other low-cost options with similar value.

Braves | Eric Young hitting atop the order

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 12:48:49 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Young Jr. is batting leadoff and playing left field against the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, April 17.

Fantasy Tip: Consider Young ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) a potential upside target in FantasyScore contests Friday. Batting first increases his likely plate appearances, too. Still, Young doesn't handle the bat well, and he is more of a flier than anything.
