Baltimore has placed McClain on the Reserve/Retired list. Fantasy Tip: This is a curious decision, especially for such a young player, but McClain has been embroiled in off-the-field issues and may need time away from football to straighten out his life. It would not be surprising to see him make a comeback attempt down the line. He projected as a reserve for the Ravens, so this move shouldn't affect their fantasy value as a low-end No. 1 defensive team.

"As a team, we place a high value on special teams, and Brendon was one of our top performers in that area for the last five seasons," said Newsome in a statement. "He was one of the best special teamers in the league, but he was also a valued member of our defense, especially in our sub (substitute) packages. He became a leader for us, and the door may not be closed to bring him back to help us again."

"I'm going to sit down and talk with Ed once it's all said and done," Newsome said. "I know he's totally focused on winning this game in his hometown, and then once the air clears, Ed and I have gotten to a point where he and I can really talk man-to-man, and I think we'll be able to have that conversation a week or two from now."
