Seattle Seahawks assistant offensive line coach Luke Butkus and assistant special teams coach Jeff Ulbrich are both leaving the team to join the college ranks. Butkus will join Illinois as their offensive line coach and Ulbrich will join UCLA as the special teams coach.

The Associated Press reports the San Francisco 49ers placed LB Jeff Ulbrich (concussion) on the Injured Reserve list Monday, Oct. 19, effectively ending his season. Ulbrich said he is not ruling out retirement after his latest concussion.

Janie McCauley, of The Associated Press, reports San Francisco 49ers SS Michael Lewis (concussion) and LB Jeff Ulbrich both could be lost for the season because of concussions. Lewis suffered his third concussion of the year and is set to have further testing done later in the week. Ulbrich is scheduled to be seen by a neurologist Wednesday, Oct. 14. Ulbrich said he is not ruling out retirement at this point in his career.
